Yes, and he is actually onboard the ship, which I didn't expect. And here we go, that confirms that the character design they had to alter for Lower Decks was Okana.
Prodigy's premiere will be the same day as Lower Decks's finale. It will be after Lower Decks finishes it's run.
I don't expect SNW until after Picard.I'm assuming Strange New Worlds will tie us between Prodigy and Picard next year.

Yeah, they gave us a release date for Picard, but SNW just said 2023.I don't expect SNW until after Picard.
I would think that's another clue as to what species Murf is. Can anyone think of a deep deeeeeeeeep cut with something in an egg or chrysalis?Looking forward to seeing a Grown up Murph, even though that might be a little disappointing for Christmas season.![]()
Fixed. Gracias.murF
I totally understand. It just drives me crazy like all the Rykers, Troys, Wharfs, Jordis, Cyscos, etc. XD
They also have gloves on, the necks are way higher. the shoulders are ridged.
Someone mentioned it looks like cold weather gear, and I agree.
So, in that case it's possible both sets of characters went on an away mission to a cold environment? Allthough it's weird that Dal is even wearing gloves on the bridge and doesn't remove them. Maybe they are in such a hurry to get away that they don't, or alternatively the bridge of the Protostar is cold for some reason. That would make sense considering the Protostar crew also wore what looked like cold weather gear.
The Dauntless crew uniforms also look like formal dress wear to me... or at least, a combo of that and cold weather gear.

I've a question regarding the longer term arc of the show.
I've read an interview with one of showrunners/producers (it may have been Aaron Waltke) in which it was stated that 40 episodes (4 sets of 10) haven been plotted already, and further expansion is still possible should more be ordered. The first 10 had an arc regarding the Diviner and Tars Lamoro, and this was (for the time being at least) concluded in episode 10. The next set of 10, starting in october, will feature admiral Janeway hunting the Protostar as a sort of quasi-antagonist (though with good intentions, of course). Presumably, this arc will also be completed in episodes 11-20.
So, I wonder, how will the show make sure that the crew can stay together on the Protostar (assuming that is the intention for the first 40 episodes, but I think this is likely, with the possible extension then maybe changing things to another situation with the Protostar returning to Federation space)?
The most likely end for the Janeway-arc seems to me that there will be communication at the end, and quite possibly the Diviner's weapon will be neutered. If it isn't, that may give an excuse to keep them on the ship and away from the Federation for the next 10 or so episodes - but I think it is more likely the weapon will be overcome by episode 20.
So, what else is in play and could possibly be the main arc for episodes 21-30 and/or episodes 31-40? I can think of the following:
-Chakotay and his crew, but this will probably come up in 11-20 (I think Robert Beltran is credited with a number of episodes that suggests he will be in 11-20, given that his voice was used only in 2 episodes of the first 10)
-Dal's species/origins/parents (we may see Nandi again in relation to this arc)
-The Tellarite sleeper ship colony regarding Pog, and in a similar vein Zero and Rok will probably get a return to their respective societies at some point
-Solum and the first contact with the Vau N'akat
-The Diviner may yet return in some form
In a leak that proved accurate in its other predictions, it was said that a hitherto unknown Vau N'akat would masquerade as a Starfleet ensign with a goal similar to the Diviner (possibly part of "the order" as referred to by Drednok). This may be the Trill ensign on the Dauntless, which could cause all sorts of trouble
I think that the eventual resolution of the entire Vau N'akat situation will likely be the end of the 40 episodes, with Dal's origins likely also being resolved within the last 20 episodes. One could see that either may require the presence of Gwyn and Dal respectively, but I'm still having trouble why Starfleet would let them (and the others) gallivant across the galaxy in one of their own advanced prototypes. And I suspect Federation scientists would be eager to meet and examine Dal (assuming his species is unknown also to them), and Gwyn with her unusual abilities even more so.
Any ideas?
Chakotay may well return within those next series of episodes, and maybe he has reasons to keep the teens/children aboard. But I doubt that would "working by the book", given that the Protostar (if and once the weapon is neutered) can easily return to Federation space for refit and replacement crew. Even if not, personnel from the Dauntless could come on board.Yes.
My guess on how they can keep the kids together on the Protostar is by Chakotay's return and him re-assuming command of the Protostar and turning the kids into REAL/official SF cadets.

Mulgrew did indicate she wants Prodigy to reunite the entire VOY cast on Prodigy... so, there's a huge potential for story telling here with other VOY crew.

The whole time loop and the fate of Solum will also need to be addressed... I doubt it will change (otherwise, the entire events that happened with the Protostar would never occur)... so I don't think we can expect a 'temporal reset' this time around.
Novels which have now been established to be an alternate timeline which was devoured and had its very existence negated. In novels of David Mack, who is an advisor on the show, he apparently worked for Starfleet Intelligence at some point.
David Mack wasn't devoured though, and he has influence over Prodigy. His chimerium made it in the show, and he was likely the one who suggested the involvement of Okona. That doesn't have to mean he would keep the Starfleet Intelligence background, but it is a possibility.Novels which have now been established to be an alternate timeline which was devoured and had its very existence negated.
Granted, there's Lower Decks to consider which does show Okona was allowed to attend the prestigious party which only Starfleet's social elite could. And in Prodigy Okona does have the same eyepatch he had in Lower Decks.
Don't post things like that unless you have absolute proof of it. There's no reason to think a creative consultant is the one who suggested including a particular character. Simply put, creative consultants don't get input over story content like that.he was likely the one who suggested the involvement of Okona.
