I will continue beating on the drum that the pitch clock is a dumbass solution desperately in search of a problem.

Want to speed up the game? Order the umpires to actually enforce Rule 6.02(d)(1), which says a batter must keep one foot in the box at all times, otherwise they'll be charged a strike, instead of allowing batters to step out of the box, re-fasten their gloves, adjust their helmet, check their grip, tap dirt off their cleats and scratch their nuts after every single pitch. Boom, you've shaved 30 minutes off the time of a game.

Edwin Jackson, who hasn't pitched since 2019, announced his retirement on Friday, his 39th birthday and the 19th anniversary of his MLB debut. He pitched for a record 14 teams in 17 seasons.

White Schlox are 8-2 in their last 10, so maybe the best thing for them.

6 pitches into the Mets/Marlins game and Angel Hernandez blows a call. This has gotta be some kind of record, even for Angel.

Mike Trout has homered in seven consecutive games. One more and he ties Dale Long, Don Mattingly and Ken Griffey Jr.

A new owner can’t come fast enough.

Also, can Ohtani pitch every day?

Minnesota rookie Joe Ryan has a no-hitter through seven, gets pulled. Bullpen loses no-hitter and shutout in the ninth.

One of which cost Rafael Ortega the rest of the season with a broken finger. Still, only two successful bunts in the condensed video.

That sucks. I remember a Pirates game last season where a rookie pitcher named Max Kranick threw five perfect innings in his very first start. There was a rain delay, so they replaced him when the game resumed, and the bullpen gave up two runs. :(

Adam Wainwright and Yadier Molina started together for the 325th time, setting the record for a battery. The previous record of 324 was held by Detroit's Mickey Lolich and Bill Freehan from 1963-1975.
