Why have Tellarites been so ignored in Trek

One improvement in appearance were those who didn't look entirely pig like (ENT). These might have evolved from a quasi-primate species, but being more convincingly distinct than the average bumpy-forehead-humanoid of the week. BTW, a less-than-five-finger hand is a nice touch.

Eh, that site being called "Memory Beta" is just a play on the name Memory Alpha and does not necessarily reflect the official existence of a "Beta Canon." Indeed, given there is no unified continuity among the tie-ins, one can argue there is no "Beta Canon" or "Secondary Canon" or any Canon outside of the screen material anyway.

Like the Andorians, Berman was against the Tellarites being seen in TNG, DS9 or Voyager because he felt they looked silly. As it is, though we do see a Tellarite in Enterrpise's second season, they don't really get any significant story material on Enterprise until the fourth season, where Berman was mostly just a figurehead, and the season was turned into blatant fanwank.

Andorians and Tellarites have more going on for them looks-wise then the nameless rabble of interchangeable caucasian forehead-aliens characterizing later Trek, in my opinion. They're closer to the design philosophy of Ferengi, later Klingons, and Cardassians than they are to Vulcans/Romulans, Bajorans, etc.
