I like the Abrams Enterprise saucer, and I don't mind its secondary hull; it's all the swoopy pointlessly curvy bits on the neck and pylons I don't like, and I cannot stand its nacelles, or the interiors which in no way pays homage to the original. Overall I'm much happier with the SNW Enterprise, especially with regards to the interior sets.

It's not even close, the SNW Enterprise is WAY closer to the TOS enterprise then the JJ-verse variant.

One is a proper Homage, the other is a Hot-Rod that is in the general shape of the Enterprise.

Not a fan of the JJprise. The SNWprise is better, but no cigar.

I will always enjoy the Abrams Enterprise. Looks great, especially the interior.

    SNW is good. Depends.

That’s what I don’t like about the Discoprise. The interiors look great. The exterior looks boring and dull.

I'd say the exact opposite. I'm not keen on the Abramsprise exterior but I can understand why some people might be. I like elements of it. But the interior is made up of the most bland generic by-the-numbers sci-fi sets I've ever seen, especially that godawful bridge and those cheesy tunnel-like corridors. There's nothing that's respectful of, or inspired by, the classic show there. The only decent set was the NIF's warp core in Into Darkness. Strange New Worlds's Enterprise interior sets are vastly superior in that regard.

"Respect for classics" has nothing to do with my opinion. It's a new universe where anything completely contrary to the classics is possible.

I speak solely of its aesthetics, what my eye finds pleasing or not.

I love the Kelvin Universe Enterprise's interiors and wish there were more of them. The aesthetic is visually interesting, engaging and feels real. SNW gets that for the most part, though Engineering and lounges and such feel off.

The exterior of the Kelvin Enterprise is fun and dynamic. SNW is utilitarian. I lean towards the Kelvin because the colors pop a lot more. If I'm going with a ship design like the Enterprise I at least want some fun to it.

That's what happens when you have hippy dippy pacifists design your StarShip instead of Tactical folks.

Curiously, “I” is for the escape pod hatches, and nothing in the graphic is labelled with an “I”..!

If I'm not mistaken, the RCS thrusters were removed from the Enterprise model in SNW and I'm happy they did that :)

Then they maneuver by way of people running to one side of the ship at the same time and back again. :)

No visible escape pods, check. Must be behind blow away panels like on the evil NX-01 and presumably the real one too.

Klingons aren't known for their engineering prowess or common sense.

Don't even forget about the # of OSHA violations that would be recorded if OSHA were to evaluate any Klingon based designs.

The only thing they care about is making a more powerful StarShip at any cost, even at the cost of durability / safety.
