The official Star Trek profile on twitter announced that we will again have a live for Star Trek Day on September 8th, what news do you think can be announced at the event? https://twitter.com/StarTrek/status/1555240178003783680?t=2H8b-lqGR-R5yYDY_y1w5w&s=09
I'm guessing -Picard trailer -Prodigy trailer and return date -SNW teaser, and maybe an announcement -Disco teaser and announcement -Trailer for remainder of Lower Decks season
I would like to see something about a new KelvinVerse movie. But I'll go with The Wormhole's guesses on what we might actually get. Kor
Hopefully it'll be more like, "Due to constant complaining on the Internet, we're announcing 5 new spin-offs out of pure spite."
I would watch that. Not sure if I would tune in for the 1-hour long spinoff called "Saru Scream Fest," though. Unless there was a really good band behind it.
Until we saw what Warner Bros did this week with Batgirl and Scoob 2, we didn't realise we could bury this stuff as a tax break. Therefore Lower Decks S3, Picard S3, SNW S2, Prodigy S1-part 2 and Discovery S5 are buried and will remain buried for all time. Furthermore our classic catalogue of Star Trek will soon be removed from Paramount+, which will now go in an unscripted reality TV-driven direction. Thank you for your continued support.
I think with PIC closing out on S3 then they might announce something new as well. There's nothing fresh on that list. Just says, 'same old, same old'. I'm guessing we will hear about Starfleet Academy.
Remember, remember this eighth of September, When some louder Trekkies argue canon-cohesion and plot, That without any reason They'll predict that next season Will be cancelled before it is shot.
- PIC S3 trailer and premiere date - SNW S2 teaser and premiere date - DIS S5 teaser - PRO news - Even though its not listed in the poll, ST4 teaser - Maybe a sign that P+ exclusive feature length Star Trek movies are in consideration No news on Section 31, Starfleet Academy, Seven spinoff show, USS Republic show, and Tales of the Federation/anthology series yet.
While I suppose we shouldn't rule anything out, I personally don't think they'll announce any new spin-offs until 2023. Just my personal guess, and I'll happily eat crow if they do in fact announce another series on Trek Day. Wouldn't they need to start filming that in order to have a teaser?
If they used a voice over (maybe the late Leonard Nimoy, due to his involvement in the Kelvin series) and then an ST4 graphic following by the release date, it would be enough.
Movies just don't do simple teasers like that anymore. I was going to say I don't think I've seen teasers like that in twenty years, but then I remembered they did something similar back in 2019 for The Walking Dead's Rick Grimes movie. Which has since been abandoned.
What I'm in suspense about is if this year will have another hour of dead air caused by Garrett Wang wandering off and being impossible to find when it was time for his segment. Man, did that fascinate me last year. The desperate vamping of those poor hosts as they tried to fill the time! Also, the hideously incompetent producing behind it. Like, you have a universe of Star Trek actors there, if you can't find Garrett for his bit, just get someone else up there and keep the show moving. I don't understand how they spent more than 5 minutes looking for him before tossing a sub in his slot and moving along.
It’s a suggestion. They have the CGI models and are capable of producing something more detailed.. No reason that they could not do a teaser that shows a flyby of San Fransisco, London and the Iowa bar. Followed by some ships docked to Starbase One orbiting Earth, and then a beauty show of Yorktown station. Maybe some Klingon warbirds and Romulan warbirds. And finish with a beauty show of the Kelvinverse Ent-A.
