DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

He's going to edit out the star who's in practically every scene but won't even dump Batgirl on streaming to make what money it can? This guy...

What is this, the 1960s? Fandoms don't skew female? Does he know anything about the history of women and fandoms?

Well, as posted earlier, they fired every high ranked woman and the board is now exclusively staffed by middle aged and older white guys, along with nearly all the executive level, so, yeah, that interpretation of modern day fandom is not particularly surprising.

Right. I mean I'd list examples (Buffy, Gilmore Girls, the original Star Trek conventions, Twilight, Harry Potter, just a few off the top of my head) but... no point I guess.

HP is one of the few non DC franchises they listed as being one of their priorities and at this point I'd be willing to bet a large number of quatloos its fandom is more women than children.

Massive reshoots totally worked out for justice league theatrical! Obviously they decided to try it again.

That is the first thing I thought of. I am one who likes the different sides of DC movies and the variety of tones that we get, even though not all of them are to my taste. This sounds like all movies are going to be put through the "try to be like MCU even though we don't really understand what makes the MCU successful" filter. I was really looking forward to some of these upcoming movies--not so much any more. For Snyder fans, I am sure this is also a blow.

For the good of the entertainment industry, we really really need Zaslav to fail miserably here. Success would mean nothing less than the death of streaming as we know it.

"For the good of the entertainment industry?" Such a wild statement.

If streaming dies it will not be due to the actions of any one CEO, but a shift in the way other companies see as their best avenue for growth/profit, just as decades ago, some studios used the direct-to-video model, the direct-to-cable model, and moved on to others when it fit their needs, etc. Its a service, not an entitlement.

He did basically say that there will be reshoots. Maybe miller is done and will be edited out...

I predicted a recast for any Flash appearances going forward, but removing Miller from the 1st film...I do not see that happening.

I'd say it's more likely the reshoots involve one of the multiverse Flashes replacing Miller at the end, rather than him being edited out. Maybe a new one being edited in to replace him vs one of the existing ones. Maybe they'll do the running so fast to save the day he disintegrates thing.

They might also be editing Keaton out entirely...

If their grand 10 year plan doesn't involve starting with a clean slate instead of carrying over bits and pieces of what they've already done it's already doomed.

Possible. The Flash's death in Crisis on Infinite Earths was the zenith of all the character meant and one of the most memorable deaths in comic history, so taking that as the means Miller's Flash leaves the series would be fine. All that's needed is finding a charismatic actor to become the new version (the Wally version, perhaps?)

That I wouldn't say is impossible, when they're scrapping existing DCEU plans. I'd be disappointed though. He was really the only reason I was looking forward to it.

I would be fine with the Keaton Batman coming out of retirement for one last mission, only for it to be so overwhelming for him, that he does not survive. Similar to the fate of some older heroes in Kingdom Come.

Oh FFS! One of the things I like about HBO Max is how they have almost all of the DC animated movies. D+ is missing more marvel animation than HBO MAX is for DC. And all those DC animated movies...

I'm sure the middle-aged straight white dudes will make keeping 'Harley Quinn' going a top priority, though.
