DC Movies - To Infinity and Beyond

The tax alone will not be the problem - it’s the forward looking statements and quarterly earnings it ties to that will be the problem (which is actually this Thursday).

investors make decision on this information and unpicking it can lead to court action - it’s not worth it for $90 million which is pocket change in the scheme of things.

Indeed. They are looking at multiple ramifications, not the least of which is trying to build investor support and confidence to try and become financially viable again, both short term and long term. Skeptical that it will help them though and see this languishing as well.

I wonder if the fan reaction is more than they bargained for, too. And how much creative talent will they lose long term?

I can't link to it via my phone but Comic Book Resources on their website is saying that 70% of HBO Max development and production staff is to be let go in the coming days.

Full on house cleaning if accurate.

It's going to be a slow rebuild which means immediate profits cannot be expected.

There will be no rebuild. They are canceling all scripted shows and merging the service with D+. HBO stuff will be going back to cable, though they might offer an HBO Now to access the cable stuff for chord cutters.

I'm starting to think I'd better subscribe to HBO Max soon if I want to see the new Young Justice season before the network ceases to exist.
It's worse than just ceasing to exist. They also plan to sit on all of their properties (as opposed to selling their rights) for tax purposes.

“Sounds like they’re not doing HBO Max scripted shows anymore with HBO taking over, so less scripted shows overall,” says one company insider.

I doubt David Zaslave is bothered in the slightest.

What do you guys think, time to cancel HBO Max? Or shall we give these guys a chance to make something of it still?

Warner Brother's DCEU is dead to me. Forget about future movies. I'll just enjoy those like the Snyder films, "Wonder Woman", "Aquaman" and "Birds of Prey" and mourn the franchise's now obvious destruction.

Its like everything DC is self destructing at once, all we need is for Ezra Miller to do something like declare himself God Emperor of Hawaii to complete this bizarre spiral into insanity.
They'll just write off the flash at that point. Everything is on the chopping block now.

He's not a monster, he's just ahead of the curve (the curve being the destruction of WB properties)

I'm beginning to think, James Gunn's tweets today notwithstanding, that there's not going to be a second season of 'Peacemaker'.
