The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

It's been a good month for my Star Wars collecting! I got notice emails from Target saying that Migs and Koska TVC figures now have expected release date of July 31. Unfortunately, still nothing on Axe Woves.

In a Hasbro packaging reveal from San Diego Comic-Con we're getting Cal Kestis, the TV series Cassian Andor and a female character(a hero?) from the new Andor series in an upcoming wave of the Vintage Collection. Cal comes with his BD-series droid.

Sure. They release a line that I actually want every singe figure!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Argh, Wal-Mart had a discount on a Star Wars figure that was too good to pass up, and once again I am dealing with their frustrating delivery issues. :brickwall:

Edit: I received it today instead of having it delayed over a week like last time!

Can't read the article as it is pay-walled.

Any of source for this news? Aside from my Remco "Lost in Space" Robot, Major Matt Mason and his space race themed accessories were my favorite toys of the 1960s.

Ah, I found more readily accessible information.

https://creations.mattel.com/products/back-in-action-major-matt-mason-big-jim-pulsar-figures-gyw83

So, quasi He-Man, muscle bound re-imaginings of Mason and two other figures from the 60s and 70s. He doesn't even come with his Mercury/Gemini styled helmet. I try to be open about reinterpretations of older "classic" toys, but0other than the name and the backing card art this figurine seems to miss all the bullet points of the original action figure.

Dang it, my hopes were raised and then dashed.

Dang, that video makes them even less impressive. the original Matt Mason was the smallest of the original figures at 6 inches (1/12th scale) and even that one is bigger than these. And merely painted patterns, no sculpted details to differentiate them? Yup, thoroughly unimpressed.

Gundam is known for the mechs of course---but they have some nice spacecraft as well

In terms of mechs, I hope this gets kitted

Hey did anyone collect all the TNG stuff in the 90s like the Tricorders and Phasers?

I have one but the grey plastic has turned a shade of darkish yellow and wondering if it is worth trying to retrobrite it.. It's been inside a locked drawer so I can't understand how it yellowed.

I did have then. Plastic can oxidize which might cause the yellowing.

I thought that actually might be the cause, but I have electronics that old that I use that have not yellowed on the outside.

Does anyone know how long retrobrite lasts, I read that it's only really a temporary thing and over time the yellow will return, also wondering if it's worth the effort or just bin them.

I have, that I remember recently seeing, a Klingon disruptor and a TNG tricorder in a closet box. Both with lights and sounds and still working. The original box for the tricorder too. Could be more in deep storage I have not seen since the 90's lol

Dang, wish I had popped an img or 2. Next time I have that box out for sure.... But it has not seen much sun over the decades.

I find the oxidizing odd because it's on one side and was inside a locked drawer for years and years

I think I'm in love.

I have the Starfleet Tricorder, TNG Phaser, TOS Phaser, Klingon Disruptor, Bajoran Phaser, dozens of figures, along with the shuttlecraft, Enterprise-D, DS9, the transporter.
