... and they all correctly part their hair on the left.

As a life-long Lefty, I'm profoundly good with that.

Maybe we need to see ~2260 SNW Kirk to evaluate him better?

Even TOS Kirk was more of a hardass and less dynamic in the second TOS Pilot and early Season 1.

Yep! You only need to watch those to see how Kirk got a little more comfortable and more relaxed about halfway through the first season onward. But even though it was a different timeline, Wesley played a good version of early first season Kirk.

Kirk is savage in "The Man Trap(TOS)." A character who would go on to defend most forms of alien life and their right to peacefully coexist with the Federation tells Robert Crater "you bleed too much" over the last member of a near-extinct race.

And Kirk is clearly disgusted by Carter stooping the Salt Vampire.

But to give him some credit, he does seem a bit remorseful at the end. "I was thinking of the buffalo, Mr. Spock."

Kirk was thinking of how much leaner their meat is, and when prepared the right way could make for a good meal.

I watched Mandolorian and Book of Boba Fett in which they recreated a young Mark Hamill.

While it's quite a brief in Mando ,in the Boba Fett episode 4/5 it was quite a long sustained appearance of Mark Hamill as he was in the Original Films.

There was a conversation lasting 15 to 20 minutes. It was quite real looking.

    Anyone else seen these episodes?

So why not do the same for William Shatner?

Use similar technology such as Deepfake or rather Deepreal to create original characters.

The last line made the episode memorable.

Yes, I've seen. No I don't want it.

Recasting is the least offensive aspect of Hollywood to me.

Gods, no. Digital Zombie Shatner is not a worthwhile thing.

I adore Shatner and I'd veto that shit in a heartbeat.

Yes. I much prefer TREK's method of recasting than WARS's digital zombies.

Don't you mean you'd veto that SHAT in a heartbeat? :nyah:

One day, in the future, a new actor will play James Kirk and folks will clutch their pearls when he is a non white she.
Seriously, the actor does not need to look like Shatner, he just needs to act like Kirk as per the script. Paul Wesley did what he was meant to do, act like the SNW version of James Kirk.

For cameos like Luke it's ok. But deepfaking for several episodes would not work. It would be expensive and I'm not sure Shatner would go for it..

I'm sure Paul Wesley will sort things out by his next appearance....

It was not a cameo it lasted 15 mins.

If Shatner was given enough money he would as it would be a chance to recreate his youth.

It's not expensive anymore as even YouTubers are doing it on their home computers as evidenced by recreating the Luke Hamill scene better than the official version.
