Things that frustrate us all

Right now there's a roll-over semi on the freeway blocking all lanes. I've been sitting in the same spot since 8:30 this morning. It's now 10am and there's no estimated time as to when they'll get the semi righted and the highway reopened.

Got a Hotmail "unusual sign-in activity" email for the second time. First time was someone overseas unsuccessfully logging into my email account multiple times. This time the email claimed someone actually did log in, which freaked me out for a moment until I remembered the email was in my junk mail folder and yup, phishing scam.

eeks! i hope it's not hot where you are. It's not only unpleasant but dangerous to sizzle in a car in the sun.

It hit the mid-80s today. Thankfully where I was stopped was in a shaded area, so I was able to turn off the engine, get out and stretch for a while.

We were there for close to two hours before the state patrol opened the shoulder to traffic to let everyone off at the nearest exit.

They didn't have the highway fully reopened until 2pm. Almost six hours.

That was that accident near Puyallup, wasn’t it? I saw the notification before I went to work! Sorry you had to sit in that!

Message on Facebook once a week from account with attractive girl avatar. "Hey, your cute. I am totally an actual attractive woman super interested in you and not a phishing scam. What is the name of your 3rd grade teacher?"

A horse bit my collar bone this morning. It's not bad, just enough to make my shoulder hurt a bit when I move my arm.

I also got a call about a job application I put it, but I think I already wrecked my chances of getting the job. I scheduled an interview, but found out after that that I couldn't get a ride then, and when I called to reschedule, they just said they'd call me if they got another opening. I'm wondering if maybe they thought I was saying I couldn't make it to the job at all, when I all meant was I couldn't make it to the interview at that time.

There's a church in the office complex adjacent to my apartment building and last night they held a party there in the parking lot that included outdoor grilling and music. It started at sunset. I went to bed at 9pm, just as it was getting started, because I had a headache. When I woke up at 3am, the party still going. It lasted until 4am as I fell back asleep by 4:30. I guess the congregation didn't care about the noise they were making. I wonder if anyone in the complex or the nearby housing development called the police to report them? I doubt it, if the party lasted until 4am.

Sorry about your luck.

Some will argue that the limits exactly that, not a target but there is also the 'making good process' definition which says you should drive upto the limit if road conditions allow.

I'd question if the conditions were good then was the driver in proper control.

I find it worse here Sunday afternoons, drivers taking it very steady. If I was a police officer I'd pull them over and breathalise them as would suspect the couple of pints with Sunday lunch was making them take it steady.

Driving too slow can be as dangerous as driving too fast, and in the UK you could be charged with a motoring offense for going to slow. Thw worst offenders are those that go just slow enough to be frustrating but just fast enough to make overtaking difficult and most of the time they seem blissfully unaware of what is going on behind them they ride close to the centre line rather than towards the kerbside to make overtaking a little easier, then there are the ones that speed up the moment you try and overtake forcing you to abondon the overtake then they settle back down at the speed they were going. Sure I get it some people aren't in a hurry to be anywhere in partiuclar but others might be and I tend to give myself somewhere betwwen 125-150% of the time needed to actually complete the journey so it's not like I am not giving myself extra time.

:censored: people who are constantly calling to see if we want to sell our house. It's like a mini-industry here! I don't blame the people on the phone - they're just doing a job - but it gets REALLY annoying. Yeah, I'll sell - if you can get me above market rate and help me find a new house and pay for the moving costs!

Amen sister! And those dickheads calling wanting to sell me auto warranty insurance, "our records show..." :brickwall:

Got an email saying my package was delivered but there was no package outside and no truck ever drove by. My first reaction was that it was delivered to the wrong address and this was an expensive item so it pissed me off. Started a missing package claim, left negative feedback as a way to try to get ahold of someone to explain the situation via the comment section. Turns out the delivery driver just marked it as delivered before even reaching my neighborhood and 15 minutes later it arrived. They wouldn't let me delete the negative feedback though.

I have a simple way of handling this: if I don't recognize the number, I don't answer the phone.

Saves alot of time and aggravation.

When I was working, I had to answer unknown numbers as I was providing support to outside groups, including international.
