So the ‘rumours’ are looking more like ‘leaks’. Announcing the Christmas Special this year just after the October Centenary regen perhaps?
They can’t announce something that’s not going to happen, but I’m sure they’ll reveal the airdate of the first of Tennant’s three 2023 specials then if not sooner.
My money's still on Anniversary, Christmas 2023, and New Year 2024. Is there any meaning behind Davies' choice of emojis there? The alien one could mean anything, but then there's a robot, a ghost (which kind of looks like an Adipose), and death.
I always thought a 14 month gap unlikely (loses too much momentum). I'd guess on Christmas 2022/New year 2023, one more, 60th anniversary, with Gatwa's debut at Christmas 2023 and a series from Easter 2024.
I honestly didn't know whether to post this in this thread or in the Christopher Eccleston / Big Finish thread because he's very vague with the details, but Christopher Eccleston is apparently involved with a project to commemorate the 60th anniversary with David Warner, as per a convention appearance earlier today...
It’s odds on a Big Finish with the alternate Third Doctor (Unbound) but maybe RTD is getting a closer tie to the audios and it really will be onscreen.
You beat me to it. And that alone makes me very excited. I love Warner's Unbound Doctor (and I'm way behind...I think I've only done the first Unbound/Benny set).
I have barely touched big finish… too expensive, and at the time they started I didn’t like the slap in the face to their predecessors, continuity wise. (BF would not have had existed *without* the character of Benny, so why they decided to go against NA continuity at the time is beyond me.)
BF and BBC are basically equal to me. It sounds unfair, since BBC has much more difficulty getting the show made and sustaining its merchandise while BF is part of that very merchadise, but on the other hand BF usually, at their best have used theirr stories to enhance the characterization of the various eras and expand their scope (though arguably not as much lately) while maintaining some form of nostalgia and all. Certainly enhanced and even salvaged the '80's Who for me, as I find the overall Eric Saward era morally repugnant and loathsome, with notable exceptions throughout.
That's silly. Every medium has its on continuity and Big Finish is no different. They went on to create an extensive history for Benny within their own confines. You're only punishing yourself from enjoying a massive library of fascinating stories. As for the price, digital downloads are pretty cheap, especially for the earlier stuff (which is now as low as a dollar/pound) and they regular hold sales for even the most recent stuff.
Oh, I’m talking about years ago, when it first started… for a long while prior to 96 there was just one continuity. I think Gary Russell didn’t like that idea anymore. The main reason these days is the sheer expense. As I said, I have a few, butI am never going to follow anything. If I do pick another soon, I might give the Love and War adaptation a go.
Wow, a white balance of 6000! I'm sorry, what was the take away I was suppose to get? We already knew Rachel Talalay was directing.
She's directing an Episode 1 that started filming yesterday, which is therefore different than the episode 1 (of three altogether) she filmed with Ten and Tate earlier in the Spring...
