The title says it all. What episodes could PIC Season 3 follow up on from TNG, what characters, and what overall arcs?

In "Coming of Age", Admiral Quinn offers Picard a promotion to Admiral and a position at Starfleet Academy, which he turns down. But, now, in PIC, Picard is Chancellor of Starfleet Academy and a Retired Admiral. He ended up where Quinn wanted him to be. He also said there was corruption within Starfleet. The corruption was later revealed to be linked to the Parasites in "Conspiracy". But what if the Parasites were taking advantage of what was already there? "Commodore Oh" is a prime example of such corruption. And it was never followed up upon again after "Conspiracy".

Even if the Parasites don't return, the corruption angle could. Just a thought.

"Coming of Age" & "Conspiracy" are the first things that came to my mind. But there are other possibilities. So have at it.

Ro Laren and Thomas Riker are possibly still out there somewhere (albeit the latter is as much as DS9 story as TNG).

The aliens that left Armus behind, advances based on the Cytherian cultural exchange, repopulation efforts on Aldea, a glimpse of life on the Enterprise during the Dominion War, Admiral Janeway pushing transwarp research, kid from Imaginary Friend as an adult gets a telepathic cry for help from her "imaginary friend", Kyle Riker/Katherine Pulaski wedding, how Worf handled re-enlisting in Starfleet after being an ambassador, the lifeform the Enterprise "birthed", the probe sent to our universe in Schisms...

"Darmok" (this kind of has been followed up in LD with the Tamarian security chief, but this would be the live action version)

"Unification" (if there’s going to be a Spock reference in S3, the state of the reunification movement would be it)

"Redemption" (Worf will be back, so there a good back we get some exposition on the state of the empire, post-Gowron)

"Cause & Effect" (a Captain Morgan Bateson/USS Bozeman cameo)

"The Wounded"/"Preemptive Strike"/ "Chain of Command" (something that follows up on Cardassians)

    "The Inner Light"

"The Pegasus" (there were ideas for a part two, but that never happened)

    "Relics" (the Dyson Sphere)

"The Last Outpost" (Ferengi & remnants of the T'kon Empire)

    "True Q" (Amanda Rogers)

I'd like to see/hear more about races that were barely touched upon, but seemed very interesting, like the Jarada or the Sheliak.

In my fan stuff, I have decided those parasites were actually an evil version the Trill symbiotes - the race divided millenia ago on how they should treat their 'rides' and other species. I know it gives the whole thing a bit of Stargate/Goa'uld vibe, but thats how those parasites were presented anyway, so why not embrace it?

She had two kids, that must have happened already.

Who Watches the Watchers follow up, they (Mintakans?) and the Romulans go to war, or team up against the Vulcans... Damn, producing is hard work.

They've said the main baddie is a new character. So I don't think they're going to do any direct follow-ups to previous TNG stories.

Unless it's a new character that is somehow connected to a TNG story.

Could be a character like Sisco or the Borg Queen, who were borth sort of born out of Best of Both Worlds, even though we had never heard of them at the time.

There are a lot of good suggestions here. I was thinking a too easy one would be bringing back Lore. I would like to see Sela and Donatra return. They could throw in some DS9 Romulans as well. Madred would be a good villain for Picard, as would Bok.

I'm sorry they never followed up on the con-artist posing as Ardra. She could have been a good recurring foil for the Enterprise crew. She even teased a return, but nothing ever came of it.

She was in the TNG DC comics, if you really want more of her.

I don't really think so. Con artists are one trick ponies, and would be a bit too "next time, Gadget" type of foiling if the crew kept falling for it.

Yeah, I know. I didn't like DC Comics take on TNG, and I recall not liking the storyline featuring her.

I mean, I wouldn't expect her to engage in another con to fool the TNG Crew. She appeared to have a rap sheet, so I assumed she engaged in other crimes like larceny, robbery, creating forgeries, etc. The idea wouldn't be to fool the TNG Crew, but to avoid capture by them.

lots of newer shows in the 2010s deal with trauma, one person in shittydaystrom said that Sybok and his ideology was a black hole the writters couldn’t avoid.(and to some extent some of the backstories sound like a shitty daystrom post). Whether we like it or not Picard is overwealmingly going to focus on trauma so what trauma storylines should Picard focus on?

Good. How about trauma over Cardassians and torture. I'll never understand why people are so avoidant of processing trauma.

Trauma is an important factor in real life but in Picard if they are going to focus on Truama it would be good if we saw variations in the impact of trauma, with uncertain results(we did see that with book). Trauma can seem like basing an entire show on an emotion, trauma is trauma, it can look the same though. It’s trauma it causes pain that part is obvious. So the key factor in successful Truama plots in my opinion isn’t the fact that Cardassian torture causes pain it’s what happens after that. For example If Miles Family was killed by Cardassians what realistically would that add to his character? Being emotionally invested in Keicko O Brien if Gul Madrid murdered Keiko making a Monk like plot with Miles finding who murdered his wife(would likely not hate it but would not like it)

Cardassian torture likely happened to thousands of cadets, besides the basic features of truama, what plot potentiol does Cardassian torture have?
    (Besides Picard facing Gul Madrid)
