SNW truly respects TOS continuity!

Ok so about the props.. Given the time period, isn't this too early for the TOS combo phasers? Shouldn't they be the guns that you actually had to turn the barrel to change power levels? It doesn't really bother me, but if we're being technical... Of course, if we're really being technical, they'd all be wearing ill-fitting mock turtlenecks. :guffaw:
Maybe Pike asked for those props before they became SF standard?

I think there's some wiggle room on handheld energy weapons. Starfleet seems to have lots of variations on Type 2 phasers in the 23rd century. As seen in the movies, three different designs were used in the span of a few years.

I've been pretty easy on SNW's cosmetic changes, and I still believe they can all be written off as a refit. But after this week's episode, without spoiling too much, I think we might have more to worry about than starship tech cosmetic differences in regards to TOS continuity (mainly the entire biology of a certain alien species, which contradicts even the Kelvin movies)...

Damn them to hell, then!

We know that they're heard of as early as ENT Season 4 and the Orions enjoy an alcoholic beverage that comes from the Gorn Hegemony. Then there was TOS. Now this. That's about it other than the Mirror Universe Gorn from the 22nd century and the Kelvin Timeline Gorn babies that get referenced in one scene of one movie.

Well, if we assume adult males can't...do what one of the young individuals did in that episode to their enemies, it still works fine. Babies of said race only got a passing mention in the Kelvin movies, and - if you play or watch a playthrough of the game that's referencing - they did bite...and the parent they came from may have been impregnated in a similar fashion...

Is it also just possible that maybe there are several different species within the Gorn Hegemony? And perhaps they have different ways to propagate their species? And that the time of Pike and Kirk, they simply don’t know that?

you do realize that even though a revolver pistol pre-dates the automatic pistol, there are still cases of revolvers being used by some, long after others started using the other? and that it isn't a continuity violation, it's just how the world works?
