I own some of those already, but that sounds like an amazing deal! Thanks for the heads up @Avro Arrow!
I literally have only been buying the paper copies of the Hero Collector books because I didn't think I'd ever see them as DRM-free eBooks. That's a HUGE deal, for $25, it's an absolute steal (the cost of ONE book on Amazon). Probably everyone here should be buying it.
I saw these on Reddit this morning, and I snagged the biggest lot. It seems to contain EVERY Star Trek title Hero Collector has ever published, which is awesome. The only drawback is that many of the titles have the "pages" of the PDFs formatted as two-page spreads, which is not ideal for any viewer that's not running on one of your big monitors on your desktop. On my iPad, they are mostly legible. But on anything with a smaller screen, they will be challenging to read.
You can copy and paste the art elements out of those PDFs. 90% of the Eaglemoss stuff is already available for free (their magazines are all online, legally on their site) but it's very cool nonetheless.
I don't know if I should post these here, because they're not Star Trek, but just in case any of you are also Firefly fans, I just wanted to let you know that the ebooks of the first two Firefly novels (Big Damn Hero by James Lovegrove & Nancy Holder, and The Magnificent Nine by James Lovegrove) are both on sale for CA$1.99 on Kobo Canada and Amazon Canada. I'm not sure how long the sale will be on for.
Even better, this is available at eBooks.com for $1.99 in ePub. https://www.ebooks.com/en-us/book/209833922 The Autobiography of James T. Kirk is also $1.99 at eBooks.com. https://www.ebooks.com/en-us/book/1890860
June 2022 Star Trek eBook deals https://www.simonandschuster.com/p/star-trek-ebook-deals This list is complete unlike the list posted earlier in this thread.
Update: Happy dance time! My local public library system (Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library) added all six “Slings and Arrows” books to their OverDrive collection at my request. (They started out adding just books three and four but when I wrote to them saying it was a six book series, they bought the rest, too.) I still hope S&S eventually offers them at $0.99 monthly sale price at some point, though, so I can actually own copies. —David Young
I'm curious if the Slings and Arrows books are still making many sales at their current prices. I don't ever expect a print compilation of the series, but would it be difficult for the people at Pocket Books to create a bundle for ebook retailers to sell? I would easily pick up the series if it were offered at $15 for all 6. I also wonder who is buying the old Corps of Engineers books at $6 a pop when the omnibus ebook collections are about the same price. Surely, a permanent reduction to $1-3 would draw in more new readers to the individual stories.
Thanks to you both for pointing this out. Hopefully they also offer Picard at this price soon. (Spock, too, however I can understand their not wanting to do it with their newest release in the series.) —David Young
Looks like the July novels will be from The Typhon Pact (except for #5??) with TNG's Dark Mirror and VOY's The Murdered Sun to round out the list. These are live on Amazon.us
Thanks for the heads up. I don’t have any of these in eBook format yet (except for The More Things Change, mentioned by Allyn) so I’ll be getting all of them this month. Still, it would have been nice if they’d included the two Titan novels they left out last month in this month’s group. —David Young
