What are your controversial Star Trek opinions?

My theory is it's because they're mostly depopulated being ground zero for Earth's nuclear war:

Khan was the last of tyrants and ruler of the largest land mass on the world from Asia through the Middle East. Though not specifically stated, nuclear war was the outcome. Being the last of the tyrants to be overthrown, his kingdom (Asia/Middle East) would be most likely be ground zero for most of the nuclear exchange. Here's a map of Khan's potential kingdom for reference (note that India and China would be affected most):

(Also note, there's a little over 40 countries in black labels, so, I have the controversial opinion that this region was initial source of the Eugenics War, and hence, explains this region's low representation in-universe for Star Trek.)
One of the factions in that war was called the "Eastern Coalition", as per Star Trek First Contact, which makes your theory disturbingly plausible.

Based on your theory this makes the state of Earth after the war, (and eventually United Earth) a Stormfront wet dream....oh dear.
I prefer to have a modern Trek be more diverse if showing humans, which at least SNW is trying, however IMO there are too many damn human characters on Trek. Reboot the whole thing and show one white male human in a minor role and diversify the rest. (cough, cough Discovery)

If you discount the white dudes in makeup, O'Brien was the only white guy on DS9.

Yeah, of all the DS9 characters that fans would easily recognize it was just O'Brien and Eddington. And we know how Eddington turned out.

In a nutshell, controversial opinion: The Great Bird would prefer SNW to TOS if he could watch it today.
I don't really feel comfortable making declarations about what Roddenberry would or wouldn't like about current Trek over 30 years after the man died.

Nor do I particularly care. Here's a potentially controversial opinion: I don't think Gene Roddenberry was the best judge of what did and didn't make good Star Trek.
Yeah. Code of Honor with a different casting policy is still a bad episode.
True. The last time I watched "Code of Honor" was about two years ago, and it's a very slow, talky affair filled with scenes that don't really go anywhere. The story has a beginning and an ending, but it doesn't really have a middle.

Congratulations... I believe you have just posted the most controversial opinion in this entire thread.

Not really. I mean, I don't think "Voyager" was better than "Deep Space Nine". But I don't think "Deep Space Nine" was better than "Voyager", even if it had the potential to be so.
