Dune Part 2 2023 (24, 25, 26...)

Executive producing are Josh Grode, David Valdes, Herbert W. Gains, Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert, Thomas Tull, Spaihts, Richard P. Rubinstein and John Harrison. Kevin J. Anderson, the author who co-wrote many Dune books with Brian Herbert after Frank Herbert’s death, is serving as creative consultant.
So the HLP is executive-producing, and KJA, who dictates perfect prose while climbing mountains in Colorado and simultaneously rescues stranded women as he's doing it (according to his own social media posts) is a "creative consultant."

In that case, I should warn everyone that KJA blames all his mistakes on his secretary. Right now I'm wondering how bad it has to be before Norma F. Cenva shows up.

and here's an image of him as Emperor. :)

Oops, I forgot we had a thread for Part II, and posted about this in the Part I thread.
He's definitely not a name I would have thought of for Dune, but I'm sure he'll be great.

Is this really confirmed ?
I like Walken for a bit of fun but he can only play Christopher Walken. It's hard to watch him and see the character he is supposed to play.

Also the IGN article said the Emperor was not in Lynch's Dune. Was the navigator scene a Director's Cut only ?

"Paul, your father wanted you to have this signet ring. The way your dad looked at it, this ring was your birthright. He'd be damned if any Harkonnens' gonna put their greasy hands on his boy's birthright, so he hid it, in the one place he knew he could hide something, his ass."

Also the IGN article said the Emperor was not in Lynch's Dune.
He was. If they said that, it's just shit reporting.

Edit: They just worded it weirdly. When they say "original movie" they mean the first Denis movie.
Walken's character is referenced in the original movie, but Dune, Part Two marks the first time fans will see the Emperor in the flesh. The role was previously played by José Ferrer in 1984's Dune and Giancarlo Giannini in the 2000 Syfy miniseries Frank Herbert's Dune.

Hmmm maybe this will be a four hour movie on its own .

I'm wondering if they're gonna split it into a trilogy yet. Be one way for the new ownership to make a claim.

I wouldn’t be surprised if new scenes (with Margot and Feyd) are being made for Part 1 as well, with a Godfather Saga-esque extended edition in the not-too-distant future.

Looks like we are going to see the Fenrings afterall.

Lea Seydoux has been cast as Lady Margot Fenring.

Léa Seydoux Joins ‘Dune Part Two’ as Lady Margot (msn.com)

Though how ever wrote the article should read or re-read the book.

She wasn't an ally, she was oath bound as Bene Genesrit to leave the warning for Jessica.
Oh, man, Léa Seydoux is excellent casting of her as Lady Margot!

I wonder if we'll get a flashback of Jessica discovering the secret communication, but probably not. That'll probably come off a bit clunky. We had that chance and it's gone.

I don't remember much about Margot Fenring, but I liked Seydoux a lot as Madeline Swan in the last two Bond movies. Wikipedia says she was also in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, but I don' remember her character. I'm sure she's a good choice for this.

She was the gorgeous blonde assassin villain.
