The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

That may be the mass-produced fighter. It would make for great Star Fleet Battles sublight craft. Probert’s Klingon fighter that would look nice against it.

Something I don't own, but I wish I had purchased when it was still available in stores.

I like this version of Otto because he's rotund rather than muscular (as was the norm in the 90s), and he has the bulky harness with the control dials similar to the way Steve Ditko first drew Doc Ock. There was a similar figure around that time, but the lab coat was fabric and it lacked the control harness.

I'd be happy to find one missing one or more of the tentacles because I would want to replace them anyway using the "goose neck" sections of some USB powered mini lamps or fans. There are some photos and a few full tutorials online by fans who have done just that.

Another selection of snubfighters from LIGHTYEAR

I love those! I bought the XL-01 (Hyperspeed series) at a Walmart two weeks ago and went and ordered the XL-02, the XL-07, and the XL-15 off Amazon the next day. They look really cool all lined up together as if they're in a hangar.

I've got this ambitious idea to build a Super Star Destroyer playset for the 3.75" figures. It would include the bridge and also Vader's meditation chamber and hologram platform for talking to the Emperor, within a big housing that resembles the ship. The proportions and scaling wouldn't actually be accurate, of course. It would be kind of like the ships that Hasbro and Kenner have made over the years, but probably even more stubby/deformed to keep it at a somewhat manageable size. Still, the thing I'm picturing would probably be over 4 feet long.

I have seen someone do something similar on Deviant Art for a Rebel Corvette, in the style of the ship from Rogue One that pushes the Star Destroyer in to another. They did some 3d printing and then assembled it together. I think it can be done, similar in the layout to the Lego Star Destroyers.

Do you have a link to that, by chance? I tried Googling but I couldn't find it.

I kind of like the new Flash Gordon figures by NECA. Well, it's only Flash and Ming. They are part of a series of figures called "Defenders of the Earth" which is inspired by the 1986 animated series, and includes other characters who appeared in that show. But I generally don't buy NECA figures because they are 7" scale, and don't go with the various 6" figures I have.

Yeah, I think they've done a few repaints of those to make Flash and Ming look like they did in the film though I have half an eye on The Phantom repaint in his classic look appearance.

Ah, that's taking me way back. I had Flash and Ming, and Ming's two-man shuttle that I simply repurposed as Flash's.

I thought I might have had a lizard woman figure too, but I'm not sure since all my Flash Gordon stuff has been long gone for ages. When I was a kid, I used to hang around a toy store called Children's Palace once a week during the summer time when school was out. Action figures, playsets, and vehicles as far as the eye could see in multiple aisles. Now those were the days...
