Yes, that was my point. Her appearance in AOTC did not make those comics canon though.

I think I posted without a reply and missed some context.
It comes down to the old canon debate and what is and is not canon. For me I have little regard/use for canon in terms of personal enjoyment.
Yeah, George just liked a piece of comic art (basically his only actual interest when it came to the EU) that featured Aayla, and decided to put the design in the movie. That's it. Most of the broad strokes of her backstory eventually made it's way into canon because: "why not?" though the personality and French accent was all George. Indeed if you read the original story in which she appeared, here actual character bares very little resemblance to how she was characterized on TCW.
Similar thing happened with Vos, even though his appearance in RotS was cut back to just a passing mention. Plus of course the design itself was based on a random extra in TPM that cause the eye of the comic artist, so it all feeds into each other.

I'd like to learn about what happened to Quinlan Vos after Boz Pity and the issuance of Order 66. Where he went in the ten years other than Mapuzo. Obi-Wan's happy little smile when he realizes Vos is still alive was one of the few times Ewan has let this version of Obi-Wan show true joy.
I can see Vader killing Vos very, very, very, painfully assuming Vos doesn't break and go evil under torture (spoilers for Dark Disciple novel)

Vader has special reason to hate Vos. At the end of Dark Disciple, Quinlan had been convicted of mass murder, painfully killing a fellow Jedi and basically slaughtering everyone and anyone in the name of the dark side. And the Council knew all of this down to every horrific detail. Vos was going to be expelled from the Order and live his life in shame and disgrace in Republic prison.
Then Obi-Wan and the Council played favorites, talked about how they sent Vos into the mission where he got captured and Dooku tortured him into becoming evil, and Vos was let back into the order, cleared of all his criminal charges and (no doubt this one really angers Vader), reinstated with the rank of Jedi Master.
Some time later Obi-Wan and the same council coldly refuse to grant Anakin the rank of Master despite, from their point of view (they don't know about the Tusken massacre or the circumstances of Dooku's death) not doing anything even remotely as bad as Quinlan Vos has done and otherwise being a model Jedi.

Didn't Forces of Destiny bring some of the animated Ewok characters into the canon?

I hate canonical mechanics. 
Yep, and canonical mechanics often don't make sense. You would think that "whatever makes the most money" is a good rule of thumb but that doesn't seem to be it either. A bunch of SW characters were killed in throwaway books in Disney's canon that were alive in Legends, ending opportunities for any appearances in shows like Mandalorian. You think that a canon built around maximizing film/tv opportunities would be less bloodthirsty, but what do I know?I hate canonical mechanics.
Why would it? I recall reading a lot of Star Wars books were people died or wanted to kill a lot of people. That's drama people!
Also, what makes the most money isn't logical or linear. It's really easy to screw up a film, much less a franchise, and not make a dime. And then do a really stupid kids film and make a ton of money.

I'm still holding out hope we get Qui-Gon's voice making an appearance in the next two episodes if not his Force Ghost. This will have to tide me over until then.
I'm surprised Neeson hasn't been asked back.
He may have been and recorded some dialogue or even footage but hasn't yet been able to say anything.
I won't hold my breath.
