Fantastic! I can't wait to watch them.

I just noticed that's a week before She-Hulk's debut so presumably we got all of the shorts at once (or perhaps daily until that premiere).

Brief Love and Thunder clip that doesn't spoil anything that wasn't in the trailers.

I suspect this is where the recent subplot with Julia Louis-Dreyfus is heading. I've recently wondered if the introduction of Dreyfus as Val was in response to William Hurt's illness and his inability to continue on as Thaddeus Ross.

Probably the least surprising announcement in a while. It's been pretty obvious they've been working up to this since U.S. Agent was announced to be in F&tWS.

There's already a healthy potential line-up ready to go; Yelena, Blonsky, Ghost, Zemo, and U.S. Agent all seem like gimmes, though Blonsky and Zemo may be mutually exclusive given the latter's attitude towards super-soldiers. I guess maybe Taskmaster is an outside possibility, though that would seem like an odd direction for the MCU version of the character.

One way to introduce new players might be to have a few inmates recruited from The Raft (though that might be a little too Suicide Squad.) Would be pretty wild if that's how the choose to introduce Trish Walker into the MCU proper, but I'd only give that about a 15% chance. On a similar note, Luke Cage could also show up that way. If nothing else it'd be a neat way of not having to deal with the show's unresolved cliffhanger by just having him end up back in prison.
Agent Venom could also work I suppose, though I feel like more groundwork would need to be done before that character shows up.
Deadpool could be a good fit in theory, though they'd have to fit him with a profanity inhibiting collar or something.

Failing all that it'll most likely be a grab-bag of comic characters that haven't shown up in the MCU yet, but I feel like doing that will only serve to telegraph which are going to get killed off.

I didn't even think about the Hurt angle, but it makes sense. That said, in the comics Baron Zemo was the mastermind behind the plan, so even if Dreyfus' character is the one that brings them together I'm betting that, if Zemo is involved, he tries to twist the group to some scheme of his own.

The only thing that worries me is the writer. Black Widow was just a poor movie overall, and I can't say its writing was very strong. But the writer also helped write Thor Ragnarok and Godzilla vs Kong, two movies I really like, so hopefully Black Widow was just an outlier. The Director doesn't seem to have done much, but hopefully the producers can keep him on track if he needs it.

The Thunderbolts are a completely different style of story than the Suicide Squad. In a Thunderbolts movie I would expect a lot more secret negotiations happening; I would expect the various characters to have their own motivations that may or may not work with the group; more interpersonal drama rather than an outright action movie. Something more along the lines of Winter Soldier.

I don't think that should be a huge consideration. The Thunderbolts don't need to be a Suicide Squad style deathfest.
No, I just meant that if they dropped in some random new characters (or even returning D-listers) to fill out the team, it's going to feel like they're telegraphing that they're disposable, whether they actually kill them off or not. They'll probably use faceless goons of some stripe to fill it out if need be.

I'm glad they're going the movie route with the Thunderbolts idea. That just isn't going to work as a Disney+ series.

If they do bring in new characters beyond what have already been established in the mcu, I would love to see them bring in Screaming Mimi/Songbird. I loved her arc from villain to realizing she actually liked being a hero.

As a huge Thunderbolts fan, I'd be extremely disappointed if they didn't use her at all. She's *the* classic face and central character of the entire concept.
