Of course Charlize Theron is the movie Stormfront. She’s in everything. :)

First episode is good but I don’t need to see that Termite scene again.

Finished all 3. I love how unhinged Homelander is. It’s a shame this isn’t a DC property as I would love for him to go up against Superman.

Soldier Boy is interesting. Obviously a Captain America analogue but I get the impression that he was near invulnerable. He appears to be a jerk but he can actually fight, unlike the majority of these idiots. He probably wasn’t a bad guy deep down.

What Homelander is doing to the Deep is cruel but the guy deserves it, so he has no sympathies from me.

Well I certainly didn't expect THAT in the first episode

Damn, the shit they can get away with on this show is just insane.
That Termite scene was definitely not something I expected to see.
The rest of the first episode was pretty much setting up the status quo, but what we got was still pretty good.
Maev being Butcher's contact was a surprise.
Charlize Theron as Stormfront in Rise of The Seven was fun little cameo.
Very curious to find out exactly what Neuman's backstory is, and why she's willing to lie and kill her best friend to cover it up.

They really dug deep into the Synder nods with "Dawn of the Seven" and "Release The Bourke Cut" lol

Yeah it was a nice DC reference but Voight is clearly supposed to be Disney.

Or basically any entertainment company or also a stand in for our general entertainment industry including social media.

Just finished the episodes and Boys is as awesome as ever. Loved the continuous digs at the superhero genre, especially Marvel, and taking fan ideas to the gory conclusion. Remember the memes about Ant Man going up Thanos' ass and coming back to full size? Well, the Boys basically did just that, just upped the yuck factor by about 100%.

Speaking of yuck - is it just me or is Boys even more gory than in the previous two seasons?

I absolutely love Antony Starr as Homelander, he sells the Psycho so well i can't even turn my head for a second. The way he tortures and threatens everybody who even slighted him in the smallest way is just gruesome but also quite creative in a morbid way. I think he'll be going full villain this season because he's being pushed so hard by Vought and now that he's gotten a taste of actually speaking ( and possibly acting) his mind he'll get even more unhinged.

Concerning the weapon that supposedly killed Soldier Boy - either there was no weapon at all or it is another Supe ( in a cool twist it could have been teenage or kid Homelander). I'm betting it's a Supe, just a weapon is too boring for Boys,

Also V24 - we've seen its first use but beware if things escalate and the entire team starts using it ( as they do in the comics) - it'll be mayhem!

The Deep deserved his downfall but the writing/acting is nuanced enough (like in Better Call Saul) that he's not a uniformly terrible person and actually has more empathy than a lot of the other characters, including Butcher (only that it got too skewed to sea creatures).

Far stronger opening than season 2. Season 3 looks like it's going to be nuts going by the first 3 episodes. And that first episode....yikes...

Yeah, I thought so too. I was comfortable with the level of gore for the first two seasons. Here they seem to be pushing it. Mainly the parts when people have their face cut in two. Really gory.

I do kind of find it hypocritical for a show made by Amazon and Sony to be continually taking swipes at Disney and WB though.

Watched the first three episodes! OMG some insane shit going on there. The Termite scene was bad but
    the Deep eating Timothy
    might have been worse!

@FPAlpha I like the idea that it was another supe, and if it was a young Homelander that'd be fucked up. Of course we only have the Crimson Countess' word for Soldier Boy being killed. What if the Russians merely kidnapped him and brainwashed him? He might be the only thing that could take Homelander down.

Oh god and please someone take Homelander down!

And however powerful he is,surely if all the supes combined their powers? (but then I guess some might actually side with him.)

I love Karl Urban but damn Butcher can be an arsehole sometimes.

I'm not quite sure how powerful Soldier Boy is, so far he's basically the asshole version of Captain America and if we're "realistic" ( realism in a superhero show ) he couldn't stand up to Homelander, who has Superman level power. So it could be that the Russians abducted him somehow ( maybe with some help from a russian Supe) but i guess we'll see soon as The Boys are headed for Russia.

I think it's a given that we're going to see a big showdown in the season finale - Homelander and allies ( those who are too scared to break away from him) vs. V24 powered Boys and everybody else who has a score to settle with him ( Starlight, Maeve, possibly A-Train) but i can't imagine him being killed off because he is the biggest villain in the show and there's no successor being built up so far.

However the show is so amazing that i'm pretty sure what we'll get will be awesome either way.

I think Soldier Boy, while a take on Captain America, is meant to be stronger. He hasn't aged a day in basically 40+ years. He seems to have a higher physical strength since he Hulk punched a guy into the sky.

As to comparing to Homelander. It doesn't seem like Soldier Boy can fly which Homelander can. Although I don't think Homelander is actually on a Superman level TBH. Superman's ground speed would be basically just below the Flash (which in the boys your speedster is A-train... Although I would say the Flash is much faster and overall stronger than him) and Superman's flight speed seems superior to anything we see from Homelander.

I haven't read the comics so I don't know how the story goes there (or in fact how faithful the show is) but I can't see how Homelander can go on much further than this season, barring Edgar having some ace up his sleeve (maybe there's an anti V24 that strips your powers? If Homelander is superman then he surely has a kryptonite?)

Interesting that V24 gave Burcher invulnerability and laser eyes, presumably the drug's effects are random? He could have ended up with stretching powers (what odds Howie getting those!)

Butcher going mano a mano with Homelander would be great to see.

In this video they start laughing when they talk about Boilmer’s powers so you know they’re going to be mad. :)

Haven't read the comics, so I can enjoy the show without knowing what happens next. But just for hilarity and the shows depravity, I could imagine Howie getting the Supe snake penis that we saw in the previous season.

Neumann is the most likely cadidate to replace Homelander as the show's main antagonist (if Homelander dies relatively early in the S3 finalé).

She'd be a hell of a foe to fight, at least with Homelander you could evade his lasers but presumably so long as she has line of sight she can make your head explode, whether you're a supe or not!

On the Homelander front, and taking a slightly less icky tack than we've seen, what would happen if Termite flew into his ear and then grew to full size? Just how invulnerable is HL?

Maybe but Homelander (Antony Starr) is so delightfully psychopathic that the show would lose one very important cornerstore on which it was built, i don't believe any show has the balls to kill off its main villain without having a damn good follow up or a plan. Neuman is ok but so far not on the same level as Homelander.

That's exactly the type of nerd discussion that may have given the showrunners the Penis explosion idea - they are just consequently thinking things to the end while at the same times musing how gory and disgusting they can make it
