I don't have a huge collection and I'm not good at taking photographs. But...

Many cool reveals this evening at Star Wars Celebration but here's one in particular I wanted to share: the Black Series Fifth Brother Inquisitor from Obi-Wan Kenobi!

So the Black Series gets to keep the blister window packaging? Wasn't sure after Hasbro got rid of the blister windows for Marvel Legends.

I started going back to that little collecting store I mentioned a while ago, the one that is really messy. Thing is, the owner does go to flea markets, even crossing the border into the Alsace region of France. He does still mostly pick up video games, but he also brings home the occasional figures which are worth checking out.

One find was a nice Superman bank, with the Daily Planet building in the back. Being a huge Superman fan, and him only asking 7 Euros for it, I had to pick it up. Combined with that Trendmaster Godzilla bank I got at the Stuttgart ComicCon back in November, I guess I have the start of a bank collection.

Another find, which is really for the resale pile, he had two MotU figures from Super 7's Neo Vintage line, Stratos and Buzz-Off, both mint on card and unpunched, with a price tag of 25 Euros each. On German Ebay, they go for upwards of 60 Euros each, so I'll make some money for my collection budget with these. Plus, since I bought both of them, he gave me a Batman Burger King toy for free. And it's a pretty cool one.

One find I didn't pull the trigger on on Tuesday was The Thing from Toy Biz' 2005 Fantastic Four movie line. He asked 10 Euros for it, and I just wasn't sure at the time. But even on the way home, I regretted not buying it, and when I went back yesterday, it was already gone.

But, on that same visit yesterday I did a little digging, and I did find something. Got my first TMNT figure, a 2003 Trashin' Mike from the Extreme Sports subline, without his weapons or the skateboard though. But the real find was Sledgehammer Elephant from Hasbro's 1986 Battle Beasts line. It's pretty rare to find 80s figures at all around here, but a Battle Beast? First one I've come across. And the kicker was that the guy asked 2 Euros each. For that, I'd make a decent profit were I to resell it, but even though I have no intention of starting a Battle Beast collection, I think I'll hold onto it for a while, just because of how rare of a find it is.

That was my first thought as well. I knew there was a long line of unreleased, and cancelled sadly. Given the fairly poor performance of Micro Machines with TFA I am hopeful this new Jazwares line does better. I like Jazwares a lot and hope they continue for a while.

I think that's the new Marvel Legends Portman-Thor figure.

In other news, apparently a few figures are in the pipeline for the Star Wars Vintage Collection line: Paz Viszla from the Mando-verse, Hunter from The Bad Batch, Galen Marek/Starkiller from the Force Unleashed games.

I have definitely been waiting for a Paz Viszla figure in that scale.

It's a great store if you're ever in the area, tons of vintage toys and games and decent selection of Star Wars and Star Trek figures for good prices. I try to go any chance I get.

They even have some old arcade games and an old NES display with Duck Hunt on it.

I knew the YT toy hunting community could be counted on:

Man, comics and vintage toys, and in such nice displays? If I had a store like that in my area, that and groceries would probably be the only shopping I'd ever get to.

I'm waiting for this novelty item to reach the local Walmart shelves. If it does (I was there today and no luck) I want to stage an informal diorama using a Schleich brand penguin miniature and 2 Granny Connolly figures from the Character Options Doctor Who range, recreating Monty Python's "exploding penguin" sketch. I could get one of the sets loaded with 1966 Batman clips, but I'd rather have the Trek version.

There's a different product that is similar in general concept, but it's a DIY kit upon which one can load one's preferred audio/video footage, over 5 hours worth. In theory, one could find a clip of the "exploding penguin" sketch itself and download it to the memory card that runs the "Tiny TV". The "Tiny TV Classics" are preprogrammed and so far I have not found any "hacks" to load custom video.

The debatable downsides, one must fit the electronics within a 3D printed "chassis" that requires painting; it costs considerably more, around the 70 buck range last time I looked, and the overall item is a far smaller scale, better suited for 3.75 inch (1/18 scale) Star Wars type figures (or smaller), compared to the 5.5 (1/13 scale) DW action figures.

Does the Batman one have a Burgess Meredith clip on it?

    At least one clip.

This review shows the penguin at the 10:16 minute mark, Meredith doing his famous "Wheh! Wheh! Wheh!" laugh while the Dynamic Duo are strapped to a wall surrounded by balloons (which I assume are filled with toxic gas). But I'm not sure he played every clip completely, so I just don't know if there are more with Burgess. The review also gives the false impression is quite dim. I've seen the units in person and on average, the screens are far brighter. But since they were still packaged, they still had the pull tag that restricts the clips to 3 or 4 short samples. As you can see from the review, the box would need to be opened, the TV removed from the clear "clam shell" covers AND the tab removed to access all the clips. I don't think the employees would appreciate me doing that in the store.
