The pen may be mightier than the sword, but the Kirk Karate chop seems to be the mightiest weapon in all of Trek

TOS has more melodrama than all other trek combined

Kirk was shown to be specist as early as Arena (speaking of human revulsion towards repitles)

TOS-R Enterprise is the worst reimagining of the Enterprise than any other

For those who give TOS a pass on its faults due to the era it was made, surely they should extend the same courtesy to "Nu-Trek" and accept that some of the writing, stylisation etc is simply part of contemporary TV

For those wanting Berman Trek to return - it would be the Chinese Democracy of TV shows.

Tuvix 2.0, baby.

I know it's controversial, but I still think it was morally wrong to split up Tuvix, even if it restored Tuvok and Neelix it was still murder, and Tuvix was blameless on how he came to be.

This is in theory/principle of course, in practise Tuvok was a giant creep and I wouldn't have wated him around for the rest of the show.
But with a bit of planning, they could have pulled off a permanent Tuvix, just introduce a secondary character at the beginning of the season (maybe another Delta Quadrant alien) and then once the audience understands who this character is, fuse them into Harry, which would have opened up all sorts of possibilities to explore identity and would have given Garret Wong a *very* interesting character to play. (and considering he liked to do impressions he might have been able to adopt some mannerisms from the other actor and stuff)

Yeah, that "interesting qualities" line from Spock was horrific. Even Rand's facial expression was like: "What the F is wrong with you, Mr. Spock? Piss off!" Kirk's transporter duplicate tried to rape Rand in her quarters and Spock plays it off with awkward humor.

Arguably the worst moment in Trek history. And I adore TOS with the fire of a million burning stars.

It's even worse when you consider the context of what happened to Whitney.

Season 2 of ENT is the worst of the series for sure. I can never get behind the opinion it's THE worst season of televised Trek EVER. But yeah, the proportion of "meh" or awful to good or great is not heartwarming.

Season 2 of ENT is the worst of the series for sure. I can never get behind the opinion it's THE worst season of televised Trek EVER. But yeah, the proportion of "meh" or awful to good or great is not heartwarming.

I always thought seasons 1 and 2 of ENT were really inconsistent. On the one hand, Broken Bow was a great pilot, and the series got off to a good start, but it was mostly pretty forgettable outside of a few standout great episodes.

Season 2 gave us a string of great and downright excellent episodes at the beginning and then settled into a sophomore slump that resulted in a few of the worst Trek episodes of the past 25 years. When your season has "Dead Stop" and "Carbon Creek" but also "Precious Cargo" and "The Seventh" it is a mess.

Heck, even "Regeneration" worked. It set up the temporal causality loop for first contact with the Borg in TNG and made the Borg scary for the first time in years.

I really didn't like how they leaned so much into the supernatural. Though ending the arc with Sisko as Kirk and Dukat as Gary Mitchell was kind of inspired.
