Spoilers Captain Rios series?

Problem is I think you want to mostly save Seven and thus Fenis territory to her show. Though maybe a episode to sort of set things up would be nice, depending on which show came first. Also lets say you do Captain Rios for 5 seasons. Each season is a arc.

1 Season 1 is exploring a alternate universe.

2 Season 2 is exploring the Neutral Zone

3 Season 3. Starfleets first trip back to Talos to make diplomatic contact and see what the status of the planet is.

4 Season 4 The timeline has shifted and Rios is a criminal that the Stargazer under Captain Raffi is hunting down. Imagine if Al Capone had said the universe was mixed up. He is actually suppose to be President of the United States and isn't really a bad person. The one person saying we need to fix the timeline is one of the most untrustworthy people in this timeline.

5 FInal season has Rios promoted to Admiral and Raffi taking over for him but he wants to go on one more mission and that is to make first contact with a species that has been communicating with him inside his dreams. Soon they communicate with others in the crews dreams. The season would be a cross between Trek and that Legion show that had been on FX.

Well after knowing that RIos stays in the 21st century in the Picard Season 2 finale. I think this series won't happened. But i would love a Stargazer series in some shape or form.

I originally posted about finding hints as to whether or not we are likely to see a Rios spin-off on the Picard board (here) but perhaps further speculation is better suited to this thread.

Here are some other things I have noticed since I wrote that post:

Terry Matalas replies to a fan tweet that said "Death isn't *that* permanent in Star Trek. ;)":
This IS true. [Vulcan salute emoji]

Who else died that they could be referring to? Q? Tasha Yar?

However, Michelle Hurd commented on Cabrera's instagram post with:
Happy Birthday to my absolute favorite scene partner!! You are simply the best!! So incredibly talented!! Just so you know, I'm gonna manifest another gig for us to work together again!!!! Adore every inch of you Santiago ❤️

It's safe to say then that if a spin-off is being discussed, it's not one that involves Raffi and Rios. This would make sense as the show runners have liked and retweeted posts about a Seven/Raffi spin-off and having Raffi on both might be confusing.
Plus a Seven/Raffi show is likely to be post-Picard which would require some delicate writing to allow Rios to be part of it given the ending of episode 10.

Terry Matalas has said:
What more is coming in that story? It’s definitely my favorite time period. To me, Star Trek: Picard is the present day of Star Trek. And what’s going on in that particular world is very important to me. So stay tuned, that’s what I’ll say.

Does this mean that a Rios prequel spin-off on La Sirena (with all the holograms) is unlikely?

Another aspect is that I suspect the writers did not expect the idea of Rios on the Stargazer to be that popular. A few threads asking for a Rios Stargazer spin-off got ~500 upvotes Reddit (544, 679) and the Rios spin-off Change.org petition currently has about the same number of votes than the Seven spin-off one does (563 vs 586).
Interest has died down a bit since Rios was effectively killed off in the last episode however.
I haven't seen the show runners interact much with Rios centred tweets (spin-off or not) since season 2 started which doesn't offer much hope, but they surely must have seen them.

There's also been a couple of articles wishing (or lamenting) about a Rios spin-off:

Why STAR TREK: PICARD Should Have a Captain Rios Spinoff
Picard Season 2 Kills Its Best Star Trek Spinoff

As I stated in my previous post, I would be very surprised if a Rios spin-off has not been discussed at all and I can't find any obvious reasons for them not to go ahead. Perhaps just not a priority? The show runners seem to be aware that Seven/Raffi was perhaps the most popular aspect of season 1 of Picard but not so much that Rios and his holograms were easily the second. Maybe it's just way down the line of possible spin-offs, behind the Seven/Raffi show, the Section 31 show, the academy show, and any others they have in mind.

In response to a poster request, I don't think that anything about Picard needs to be spoiler-coded here, as I added the spoiler tag to the thread title so that Picard S2 could be openly discussed.

I guess I am going to believe that the actor is so busy at this moment that he wanted no more Trek after Picard. I guess I have to believe that or they wasted a great character and equally as great of an actor.

I’ve seen some people say Cabrera must have asked to be written out but I don’t think so. He has nothing lined up on IMDB and his last roles were The Flight Attendant (four episodes of 2-3 lines each as an unremarkable character) and a small voice role in Undone (one episode). Picard was badly written but apparently Salvation wasn’t great either and he pushed for a third season of that.

So unless Cabrera has been working on some huge super secret project, it’s pretty clear that the team behind Picard screwed up.

Well then that is a bummer.

Teresa managed to live longer and die of old age.

Rios died at a younger age in a Moroccan Bar Fight over Medical Supplies with his last breath puffing a Cigar.

I'm sure with Time-Travel shenanigans and Replicated Bodies to swap in/out after his body was in the morgue, StarFleet could resurrect him and give him a 3rd life to enjoy back in the 24th century.

Teresa is hot. I would stay behind for her too.
