Possibly controversial opinion, based on his performance in Dunkirk, Styles is a decent actor. (see also Olly Alexander in Years and Years and Lady Ga-Ga in, well anything).

There was a very anger inducing thread I saw on Twitter yesterday from some arsehole who wrongly assumed that Rose 2.0 was actually a rebooted Rose. The further you got into the thread the more their real prejudices became apparent. "How dare RTD reboot Rose, the best companion, the only companion the Doctor loved, and a working class white girl to boot, it's stupid woke nonsense" and there is is. Suffice to say that person's now muted (and I may go back and block to be honest)

Was it the one from the person who likes to talk about all the "research" they do by any chance?

I did a scan of their posts, a lovely little rant about Ncuti.

What are thoughts on why Tennant is not wearing the iconic coat?

It seems to me there must a reason for it as either he wore the coat or he'd go coatless and just rock the suit, but while he had a second suit, he never had a second coat... There must be some reason for it and I'm thinking about RTD saying he could be an alternate/timey-wimey/not-the-Doctor-we-know version of the Tenth Doctor who for some reason never stopped travelling with Donna?

I don't really know how I feel about Tennant coming back at all TBH. I like his Doctor well enough and I guess it's possibly for the 60th, but it feels like a retrograde step. I just need to have a little faith I think.

He's wearing a different suit as well. To save you scrolling back the prevailing wisdom (not accepted by all!) is that
he isn't the 10th Doctor, he's the 14th. Jodie will regenerate into him and he'll regenerate into Gatwa.

From the pics I can see, hmmm. There's one of Tennant playing with his phone and he's definitely wearing checkered pants rather than the pinstripes too...

He does seem to be holding up a Sonic that is neither the one he used nor the one 13 uses so there's that.

I hope Jodie doesn't regenerate into Tennant. I hope that's not the case, really. Even for a short time. I have no problem with Tennant, I like 10 fine, but I thought this new RTD era would be forward facing, RTD being one of my favourite creative people. It's looking more and more like a greatest hits package to me.

Ugh, I really want to love this show again so much. Maybe it is all for the 60th, so a short wallow in nostalgia is all well and good?

Oh, lord. Some people are refusing to buy the new issue of DWM, with a semi-shirtless Ncuti on the cover, because it would make people think they're gay.

Seriously, what aspect of the series is it that people like that are fans of?

Honestly, it’s less the show that’s driven me away over the past few years than the fandom itself.

I do not get how anyone who truly enjoys watching Doctor Who be phobic towards anything. WTF have they been watching? Not the same show as me it seems.

It's like certain people losing their minds about all of the current Star Trek shows suddenly being "woke."

These people aren't really fans and/or have never paid any real attention to what these shows have always been saying and doing.

Saw a Good Place meme today. Eleanor asking "How long has Trek been woke" and Chidi replying "since 1966"

I'd like to ask one of these people "If you were in a Doctor Who story would the Doctor consider you a friend or a enemy" but it's just easier to hit the Block button.

To be fair, it is not the kind of outfit they would feature Jodie in is it?
Mind you… I remember years ago they basically did an issue that could have passed for Attitude at a distance, where they even did an underpants on show photoshoot with Noel Clark…. That aged well.

Maybe we're dealing with an alternate timeline in which the Tenth Doctor didn't go, but it's clashing with the timeline in which he did...

Now that would be interesting. Much better than the Metacrisis Doctor or Jodie's immediate but brief successor.

Didn't the Doctor suggest in the first cyberman 2 parter that ours was the only universe with Timelords in it?

Yeah, but The Doctor has been wrong before.

Besides, that contradicts Inferno (even if that wasn't stated in the serial itself...).
