Taika Waititi to write and direct Thor 4

I liked Ragnarok overall, but it did skew a bit further towards the comedic at times than the story really warranted, so I hope Taika has found a better balance this time around.

That scene where Thor meets Portman look weird. Like someone cheaply superimposed a helmet over his face

As someone who didn't entirely love Ragnarok, that trailer hasn't full won me over yet. Korg is still annoying, though I honestly never expected otherwise since so many people seem to genuinely love him. And the humor they chose to put in the trailer feels like a 3rd grader's take on love to me. But hopefully (and it would make sense) that's just the jokes that they chose to put in the trailer and not the full scope of the way movie treats Thor and Jane. As long as there's more there in the film, I'm fine with some superficial jokes along the way.

Having said that, though, jesus christ Christian Bale looks like he might be the most terrifying comic book movie villain we've ever seen. And I am really loving the visual storytelling going on with the contrast between Gor's black and white world and the Amazing Technicolor Thor. For all its faults, I did always say Ragnarok is one of the most beautiful movies in the MCU and this one may just be even more gorgeous.

That's what I was thinking too

What’s with the black and white? Did the great Snyder direct those scenes. :)

Looks alright. I just hope it isn’t too silly. That ruined Ragnarok. I want Gorr to actually feel like a threat. Have him kill that annoying rock friend of his for instance

That's my main gripe with the Thor movies and why i rank them as one of the lowest on the MCU ladder.

I had high hopes for the character as he had great potential for some really epic scenes and battles - Norse mythology mixed with superheroics ( luckily they did away with the faux shakesperian English Thor spoke in the comics for a long while). We didn't really get epic stories, just a jumble of not that interesting stories and characters that fell far too short of potential.

To make things worse they turned Thor 3 into a comedy movie :( I'm ok with Thor cracking a joke sometimes, it is entertainment after all, but this swung far too much into that territory and to me it just didn't make a good fit for the character. Infinity War and Endgame somewhat redeemed him by giving him a character arc that was interestíng even if they used fat Thor as a comedy punchline again ( but him taking on the force of a f... star to be able to create Stormbreaker was what i was looking for - epic!).

I also don't have high hopes for Love and Thunder, it looks like another Thor comedy but Gorr is a serious enemy ( he is not called God Butcher for nothing) and i fear the tone of Waititi's comedy just won't gel with a serious enemy.

If they kill Korg, I will be pissed as hell, he's one of the best characters in the entire MCU.
I already loved the teaser, and this trailer was even better.
It was nice to get a better look at The Mighty Thor, and to finally see Gor. Looks like Gor could be another great villain.

More reason to kill him now. :)

Chris Hemsworth has taken the power. He will be credited as an executive producer on "Thor: Love and Thunder"

Not uncommon, when an actor plays a role long enough. You see it a lot on long-running television shows, and I wouldn't be surprised if Hemsworth negotiated that when he renewed his contract with Marvel.

But executive producers don't typically have much "power"; it's often a ceremonial title. They usually don't have production responsibilities

The Thor movies were saved when they turned away from pretentous faux-Shakespeare and embraced the silliness. Ragnarok is one of the best Marvel movies ever.

Besides, leaning into the heavy-metal aesthetic for a Norse god is such an inspired choice.
