That's great but I'm honestly surprised a new MCU character would get so much attention compared to an established one.
Tatiana has a huge fan base! ;)

It's not terrible, but you can definitely see some uncanny valley, and it's made worse because it's right next to a near flawless Bruce and Abomination.

I suspect the root of the problem is that while the Hulk effect is a 100% performance capture digital replacement, it looks as though the She-Hulk effect is instead at least partly a deep-fake process. Despite what people think, that process has it's limits and needs a lot of tweaking just to get it looking halfway passable even under ideal conditions. Even they hybrid process they developed for Book of Boba Fett has certain limitations on the kinds of shots it can and can't pull off. The reason that looked so damned flawless is precisely because they very carefully designed the shots around said limitations. For example, it can't handle hard lighting very well, so they made sure the character stayed out of direct sunlight and in the shade (which worked doubly well for them since Stagecraft can't exactly do natural looking hard light either.)

So yeah, in some shots it does give off a slight "Will Smith as the Genie" vibes.
Yeah, I'll admit that she does look a bit off but I don't think she's nearly as bad as some people here and the Internet at large is making her out to be.

Side note: there's been some rumblings from some of the VFX people and it seems as though there's been some executive level meddling. Apparently she was originally proportioned much closer to her comic appearance, and they kept getting notes to make her smaller and smaller.

So it could just be that what we're seeing is way more ropey than it should be at this stage because they kept having to go back and redo shots.
I did see that claim pop up somewhere but I wonder how much that's actually true. While I could see something like that coming from Disney, I would be surprised if anyone at Marvel would keep pushing that.

Eh, internet reactions in either direction tend to get amplified by a factor of ten (and then reverberate off each other) so I tend to adjust my appraisal of it accordingly. At this point saying "people on the internet are over/under reacting to <insert thing here>" is basically like saying "water is wet, politicians are full of shit, and did you know swallowing cobalt-60 isn't the most healthy way to supplement your diet?"

I don't know, it has a certain ring of truth to it to me. Marvel Studios are still a corporation and they've been very careful about how they market their products, and I wouldn't be shocked if it turns out they're not quite ready to market "8 foot tall female bodybuilder" of any colour as anything other than a visual gag. They don't want her to be a visual gag; clearly they want her to read as "hot" to the usual demographics they think matter, so pressure is applied accordingly.

I'm not saying it's true, I'm not saying it's BS, but I think it's more likely that some execs are getting squirrelly over a woman's body image is it pertains to one of their products, than some random low level VFX people just making all that up because: reasons?

Remember all the weird versions of Data that were in the Picard S1 trailers? He turned out OK in the show, but without deepfaking, he was always gonna look different.
I appreciate the optimism, but in the interest of not succumbing to a false equivalence: that whole thing amounted to a few shots over the course of a whole season. It still looked a little janky, but it just didn't really matter all that much (partly because it was deliberately a warped, dreamlike portrayal rather than a reality.)

There's a HUGE difference between what I just described and the main character of the show, who is in every episode, if not every scene, and a significant portion of that time will be spent being represented via the tender mercies of the VFX department. There's no subjective get-out clause here.
Not only is this is what they want her to look like, these are the shorts they specifically picked to give her promotional debut. I have a hard time imagining they deliberately saved all the good looking VFX for the show and just showed us the handful of janky ones. That's really not how (sane) marketing works. So if they're comfortable enough with how she looks to show her off to this degree, then (unless they spend the next 4-5 months forcing the VFX artists back into crunch) this is likely as good as it gets.

Yep, the CGI definitely looks more like a PiXAR movie than a live action show-- at least the facial expressions and the eyes. I'm hopeful that we will be getting a finished project more on the level of the movie effects.

I actually thought a few of the shots looked pretty good, but then others (especially when it she was shown in full She-Hulk mode next to other people) looked like cut scenes in a video game engine rendered.

though I get the feeling with Trip that they struggled to find anything substantial for him to do, and so gave him a heroic death after all.

Didn't they add Mack to the cast in the next season opener? Was there any reason Trip couldn't have had Mack's character arc?

Aside from both being black men, their characters are nothing alike in personality, demeanour, or function on the team. Mack was introduced as a mechanic, someone that Fitz could bond with back at base as he recovered. Trip was a field specialist, it'd be weird to have him fill that role given what Fitz went through with Ward over the course of the previous season, and it would require contriving some reason why Trip would be spending all that time alone with him in the workshop.
Indeed Mack being new and not knowing Fitz before his injury was kind of the whole point. It meant he could accept Fitz for who he is, not remind him of who he used to be.

Mack and Trip were both in the first half of the second season.

I hadn't remembered them overlapping.

That makes sense, I haven't watched those episodes since they aired.

I remember being impressed at the time with how SHIELD seemed to take diversity in its casting seriously.

Imperius Rex? There is apparently a leaked image of Namor from the Black Panther sequel floating around, but I was unable to find it for myself.

Supposed concept art of Namor. It does remind me of the past concept art of Endgame Avengers

Rumor has it they are tweaking his place of origin to not be Atlantis, in order to differentiate him from Aquaman. It's the same basic backstory but from Aztec mythology instead, Tlālōcān.
