"Know they will be loved"

I think the movie was very good, especially for a MCU movie. And Elizabeth Olsen was just great as Wanda, she stole every scene she was in.
And I still felt sorry for her at the end.
The Illuminati got what they deserved, they were so arrogant. I am glad that captain Carter survived the battle, you can see that she was surprised that she just got a flesh wound. :)

I watched the movie in 3D and of course It didn't look good, a couple of blury scènes, but we couldn't see it in 2D.

I don't think that that was a flesh wound. She was surprised she lost and was dying. If anyone survived that fight, it was Captain Marvel since a bit of rubble shouldn't actually be enough to kill her and Wanda didn't bother digging for her to finish the job.

Just got back from seeing it and........WOW!

Grade A

IMO it's one of the best Marvel movies. While Rami wasn't allowed to go TOO far, it was different enough to be entertaining. All the fight sequences were well done and the jump across universes was cleverly done. Dr. Strange was much more interesting in this one than he was in his solo debut. I was into it the whole time and never once was I asking myself "When does this end?" The introduction of America Chavez was well done because it added enough tidbits about her background without dragging the film down in boring exposition. And Elizabeth Olson gave her best performance ever of Wanda/Scarlett Witch. The stuck up Academy will never give her a nomination due to their prejudice against superhero films( or any film that people actually pay to see), but they should. Her performance was that good. I've seen the criticism that if you haven't seen Wandavision then you're going to be lost and I'm not sure that to be the case. We see Wanda having a dream about her kids. We learn that Wanda made this family up in the current Universe and she is willing to take Chavez's power in order to get to the universe where those kids are a reality. What more do you really need to know?

About the only negatives I have would be the quick elimination of the Illuminati. We barely get know them before they are wiped out. And as much as I enjoyed the Rami take, I wish the Marvel restrictions could have been lifted and he been allowed to go full full evil dead crazy. That would have given the film an R rating and thus lost the kids, but it would have been really cool. Still, family friendly Rami is still better than others who have held that directors chair in the MCU so I'm happy. Definite day one buy for me when it comes out on 4k.

Or..... It was just a scratch.

Of course I know they all died, even captain Marvel was dead.
They made a point by killing the Illuminati so brutally so to let one live would be ridiculous

Uhh, that was not what happened. The shield went right through her, possibly separating her upper and lower body entirely.
I seem to recall reading that there was a more gruesome version of that scene that show the two halves of her body falling in separate directions.

I did find it interesting is that IF the kids are physical living beings, and the progeny of Wanda and the Vision - the Vision was never seen on screen in any of the other Universes Wanda dream walked in.
Yeah, the lack of even a mention of Vision was a little odd. With so much of the movie dealing with Wanda's kids, you'd think we'd get at least some kind of a reference to their father. I have to admit, when we got the scenes with 838 Wanda and her kids, I kept expecting Paul Bettany to eventually show up, and was a little surprised when he never did.

I have a few right-leaning trolls youtubers that pop up in my feeds due to watching some of their videos at one point. I'm not suggesting anyone click on these or anything or to defend or attack them I just found the juxtaposition humorous.

Doctor Strange 2 DESTROYS The Batman! Marvel just EMBARRASSED Warner's D-SHE-U badly!!

I keep going back and forth on how I feel about this movie. The pacing was good, I didn't feel there was anything in particular deleted, but the story just felt off somehow. I guess it's gonna come down to if this truly is the last we see of Wanda/Scarlet Witch, because if it is... she dies an out-and-out villain, who never really had any hope of escaping that dark fate... that kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth. (Have they confirmed that either way? I've been hearing a Scarlet Witch solo movie plus appearing in House of Harkness, but I've also been hearing Elizabeth Olsen's pissed that she's missed out on non-Marvel roles because of Wanda and is done with the MCU.)

She's not "pissed", all she said was that she missed out on some roles she might have been up for like "The Lobster" because of her MCU Commitments.

If she was "done" with the MCU she wouldn't have said what she said about how she's sick of old coots like Scorsese going after the MCU because it's disrespectful of all the work the cast and crew put into those movies.

Saw this yesterday 4pm. We were the only 3 in there so talked through it like we would watching a movie at home:lol:

Loved the movie. Absolute escalating madness, peaking with Zombie Strange. Ending was confusing, with the "omg third eye he's gonna turn baaaaaaad" cliffhanger followed 2 minutes later by "running off with random woman, third eye is cool and normal now"

I thought Wandavision was awful, so despite it being about the multiverse (which is one of my very favourite sci-fi tropes), I wasn't expecting much. But Wanda going full-on villain was done really well.

She seems to really enjoy playing Wanda, especially now she seems to be getting more input into the character, and I get the feeling she's read the comics and knows Wanda. I'd be amazed if we don't get a standalone Scarlet Witch film, she did say that she wasn't expecting to be in the Agatha Harkness show (but that might have been a lie).

Her career is on the up because she is a very good actress, so not sure Marvel can hold onto her forever, but it might just be a case of her not appearing as regularly going forward rather than her leaving.

I'm pretty sure I saw a quote from Elizabeth Olson saying she'd be happy to come back if Marvel asks.

I wonder if there should have been (or maybe was but deleted) a mention of Clea as the wife of one or more of Strange's alternate selves somewhere in the movie. Maybe have Christine bring her up in the 'I reject you in every universe' scene - "Besides, you've met Clea by now, haven't you?" "Who?!?" "... uh, never mind." That way, when she shows up and introduces herself at the end, audiences would've caught on and been more "Oooohhhhh... Strange just met his MJ!!!" and less "...who the hell is that?!?"
