Spoilers Two big characters return for anniversary.

What if Tennant is returning as 10.5?
I started to think that too. But I remember some of us thought the same for the 50th.

What if Tennant is returning as 10.5? Maybe Rose died and he's found a way back to our universe? He acquires a Tardis somehow, finds a way to reverse the issue with Donna and then at the end of the specials he and Donna head off into the universe
And end up on Trenzalore and then in his final moments they put transfer the 10.5 Doctor's consciousness into the Library where River Song lives.

I'm secretly hoping that Smith and Capaldi return as well for the special.
Cribbins is a national treasure

RUMOR

We might aswell just call Tennant's doctor "The Doctor of Specials"

The rumor on GB is there are two more specials planned. Next special would be with Smith. The third would be with Capaldi.

I seem to remember Capaldi quoted as saying he wouldn't do multi doctor specials because it diminishes it's speciality

That would be brilliant; I think the pics that Talalay posted with him and Lucas can’t just be her feeling nostalgic. Smith is my favourite Doctor so I’d love to see him back too. But for all of that, I also want to see the various Doctors interacting and bickering, it’s part of the fun of an anniversary episode.

A special with only Capaldi in and no other Doctors would definitely get around that problem.

If they really are doing a series of specials I hope they're each a decent length, at least as long as a regular episode. The Night of the Doctor special was great, but 7 minutes isn't really enough for me.

They're blocking off people's view of today's shooting but Yasmin is there along with Jacqueline King (Sylvia Noble) and Karl Collins (Donna's husband Shaun).

Which I think pretty much confirms that Rose II is Donna's daughter.

Eccleston has definitely said that as well

Yes the bickering is the best bit

It seems to be the end of the episode, with the Doctor heading off by himself, that they're shooting. So while Ncuti could always pick her up later it does look like Yasmin is only there for this one, for now.

And given the number of people online I've seen saying, "I've never watched before but will be now because she's in it", they might be better off making that clear sooner rather than later.

Maybe setting up a Donna type introduction.

-Debuts in a special
-Later next year they return as a companion

It's already been confirmed that there will be zero televised Doctor Who between the broadcast of the BBC Centenary Special in October and November 23, 2023, which almost automatically disproves the notion of multiple Special Episodes featuring returning Doctors leading into Series 14 unless the plan is to have the first 3 weekly broadcast episodes (and we know that the 60th Anniversary Special in November 2023 marks the return of weekly broadcast Who because RTD already confirmed it) of the RTD2 Era be 'Specials'.

I have to admit, I have always like the idea of the Doctors Companion being the child of another earlier companion… a sort of godparent role (there’s some magnificent stories with the Doctor as a visiting godparent figure) but in my head, it would be Ian and Barbara as the parents. Has nice roundness to it.

And what, would be wrong with that? New new Doctor on Christmas Day perhaps? I can see that happening. Especially if we really are — as strongly seems the case — rolling the Doctor almost back down his (as it will be by that time) past before coming back to the relative future.

What if Tennant is returning as 10.5?

He's already been 10 and 11 - (or should that be 11 and 12?) - check out the list from Time of the Doctor.

DOCTOR: Ha. Are we forgetting Captain Grumpy, eh? I didn't call myself the Doctor during the Time War, but it was still a regeneration.
CLARA: Okay, so you're number twelve.
DOCTOR: Well, number ten once regenerated and kept the same face. I had vanity issues at the time. Twelve regenerations, Clara. I can't ever do it again. This is where I end up. This face, this version of me. We saw this planet in the future, remember? All those graves, one of them mine.

The last words of Jodie's (remember her?) final episode are totally going to be, "What? What! WHAT" aren't they?
