TMP-DE fully restored in 4K…it’s about time!

I think I heard Daren Dochterman say there were a couple of tweaks he would like to do before the disc release if possible, so there's a bit of hope there.

Yes, Admin (ie. me) was being bullied relentlessly from several fronts for several hours. Those who continued after being told to stop were booted. :(

I'm sorry to hear that and I apologize for the generalization. It does go both ways. I actually don't enjoy FB groups as much as message boards because the emotional maturity level of the fans tends to be lower on social.

Little edit I made in conjunction with the new display graphics that depict the first Klingon Cruiser getting vaporized. Thought I could re-incorporate the Klingon Commander being blasted away before the cruiser vanishes from the screen.

Nice! Looking forward to the 4K blu-ray release.

And the day upscaled AI'd machine hoobiedoobied 480i SD master beats the quality of a 4K neg scan... Yet we see zillions of videos championing only the not-in-HD material upscaled as such... It's come a long way but it's definitely not there yet...

So cool! I have started upgrading the SLV footage to UHD to see how it compares. I might steal your edit for my final hybrid version...

Well I'm still going on the assumption that the team was inspired* by my idea for Officer's Lounge edit I made last year so that's no biggie.

One thing I'd like to do is re-edit the tactical screen on the left side. Everything would be the same except that the Klingon Cruisers would be moving away from the cloud to the right instead of going alongside it to the left. Would better show that they were fleeing when we cut back to them seconds later. Also 'flash' and disappearing Klingon Crusier is very rough. You can tell that whoever did the graphics did not have the resources to make this a clean visual change. The area where the Klingon ship once inhabited is now smudgy and distorted.

*I will also settle for "Great Minds Think Alike" and that no one on the team saw my edit. I'm just happy it's there.

I animated such a thing years ago, when I replaced everything on the left monitor. On mine you saw the sort of tactical seen towards the end of the sequence when the Amar is being chased by the V'ger weapon, but in mine you see all three ships, the incoming weapon, then BAM, one flickers off. I'll try to dig it up an re-upload it.

I made this video after I talked about the Shuttlecraft Ants in the 'Star Trek: The Motion Picture Appreciation Group'. After an hour of posting, I was banned from the group. Not trying to stir anything up. Just wanted to nitpick some details that just didn't sit right.

That's a pretty clear analysis. Some sloppy work there. The titles look like ass.

Some people are weirdly protective of the DE. And people got banned from that FB group all the time for daring point out its flaws.

"All the time"?

They got themselves banned when asked by Admin (ie. me) to stop breaking the group rules.

A few typos in the captions, IIRC.

That's cool! I'd love to see it!

I also re-touched the previous video. I added sound effects to the left terminal as the text appears, gave the V'Ger lightning more 'Oomph!' and put in the 'Disappearing Torpedo' alert sound over the Klingon Cruiser vanishing on the display. The sound is a lot rougher here due to the elements being taken from other spots in the film (I'd love to know where that computer text-sound used for the Klingon viewers comes from) so apologies for that.

Otherwise we would have a mystery…

Now we know Enterprise was able to withstand a hit—-but what we see of Amar’s interior seems to indicate some sort of weapons strike…and not just an evasive?

V’ger flexing its muscles…not unlike how Ent-D was flushed out of a nebula by a cube.

Your work would indicate that Amar got dinged by the loss of the nearby vessel though…good.
