Q could be every Q ever, having an epic battle in his own mind. This is a similar concept as to how other Star Trek characters have battles in their own minds. I think that Spock has had several over the decades, Kirk also.

Perhaps we could think of Q’s mind on a galactic scale, having an epic Star Wars like battle in his own mind? Q’s version of this very old sci fi trope?

I am glad that he is at peace with himself now though.
