Just a single Q who impersonated all the others for some reasons he kept for himself?

Could possibly explain why he never mentioned his spouse and his son in Season 2 and talked about dying alone ;)

So basically the entire continuum is Michael Keaton in Multiplicity?

My theory is that Quinn committing suicide set off a chain of events that led to the deaths of all Q, with Q being the last to die. So by the time of S2 of Picard he was the last one left.

It definitely had an impact, we saw that in Voyager with their civil war.

We never really saw that Jr's birth fixed anything.

I don't think Q was alone. But it's entirely possible the continuum is extinct by Discos time considering Vance said there'd been no contact for 600 years.

That's possible and it took Q 100 years to die. If we go by what was said in Discovery. So maybe he had 1 or 2 more appearances before that..

Explain. Give more context to your question, were there evidence to indicate he was impersonating all the others???

I've had that theory a very long time and think it makes sense.

Every time Q is talking to other Q he's either testing humanity or talking to himself.

Oddly enough, the reverse was meant to be canon. "ENCOUNTER AT FARPOINT" was meant to be dozens of Q with one form.

So when DeLancie Q was talking to Corbin Bernsen Q and the shadow Q (and in both instances DeLancie Q was alone), he was actually talking to himself?

His spouse was out of the picture as of Q2, his son was rebellious and Q himself was ostracised from the Continuum on multiple occasions. It is hardly a surprise that he found himself on his own in the end.

    Yep.

Mind you, this is not a canon idea from what we've seen but the idea that Q can create doppelgangers to discuss concepts is something he's shown the ability to do so.

So Q lost his powers on purpose and had to ask himself to have them back? I’m pretty sure Gene Roddenberry didn’t envision Q as a schizophrenic.

That would be have multiple personalities, not schizophrenic.

And it was certainly educational for Q.

Isn't there a crack theory that every single person in the entire universe is just the same time-traveling soul reincarnated with their memories wiped clean over and over, experiencing countless lifetimes that sometimes overlap?

That's a short story called "The Egg" by Andy Weir, the guy who wrote The Martian.

Sorry, not really buying this theory. First of all, why would Q even feel the need to lie about there being more Q than just him? It’s not like anyone would care about that.

I'd rather not create a convoluted theory to fill in the gaps created by the writers.

Also, re: The Q extinct in the 32nd Century: if The Continuum was no more, it would be gone / inaccessible at every point in our spacetime Continuum.

It's also possible there's no contact because our Q was the only one interested in humanity.

One of DC's insane first Next Gen miniseries has the Enterprise invaded by the Continuum... which all look like John De Lancie.
