HBO's "Westworld", starring Anthony Hopkins/produced by J.J. Abrams

There's no way to rationalize not having Dolores apprehended as 'an employee doing their job' because if he'd actually been doing his job, she would've been picked up, reset, and put back on her loop.

There's also no reason, necessarily, for him to be the one to personally go chase after Elsie's datapad signal, especially in light of what we later learn about his core drives.

Double post.

Rewatching Episode 2, I had been misremembering the reasoning behind Maeve getting yanked, fixed, and reinstated and the people involved, but I still do think that Stubbs was more of an intentionally utilized asset in Ford's machinations than might seem apparent at first glance.

I figured we hadn't seen the last of Evan Rachel Wood even if she's not playing the original Dolores (and I don't want her to either). Also good to see Angela Sarafyan and Taluah Riley returning, too!

...and then, of course, things got super creepy.

I can't wait!

Damn, I didn't realize it was coming out that soon. Now I'm wishing I'd watched Season 3 before I moved on from HBO Max.

I don't think I said this here, but if I did, I'm going to say it again. Jonah, Lisa, and the other Westworld writers did with Dolores what They Who Shall Not Be Named tried to do with Daenarys on Game of Thrones, but they did it without having to spin lies and without turning the viewers against them and the show.

So... The daughter now releases a swarm of nanites that infect people/take over the world/"assimilate" the world?

At least the Man in Black is back killing people.

I very much understand "we'll keep making the show as long as the net work pays for it" method of TV production. People need jobs. But I will say that creatively this is one series that would have been better as a one and done. The first season was so meticulously made (which is why so many people predicted the twists - they made sense for the story) but after that.... Season 2 was spinning its wheels despite cool moments and 3 was a completely different show.

I've re-watches the first season I don't know how many times, and the second a couple times, but have 0 interest in revisiting 3.

Any notion that WestWorld was going to be a one-season limited series should have been squashed back in 2016 when it was revealed that Jonah and Lisa voluntarily put the production into shutdown in order to work on mapping out their narrative trajectory and to write scripts without having the pressures of simultaneous filming on their shoulders as well.

wayoung didn't say that. He said that he thinks the show probably would've worked better creatively if it had remained a one-season series.

I know.

My point was that the idea of that happening should've died back in 2016 when Jonah and Lisa revealed the rationale behind shutting down production on Season 1.

If definitely would have worked better as a single season, but as you say @wayoung while the network keeps paying they'll keep making it.

Is there any indication this is the last season?

Still mobsterworld could be fun, and the return of Tallulah Reilly is also very welcome.

Oh yes, and Aaron Paul sat on that building right set my acrophobia running!

Seriously. And THEN he leaned forward a bit. I instantly broke into a sweat.

I know.

And my point is that's irrelevant to what he said.

Why are people still talking about ____ world? I thought we're done with that now, and its just near-future sci-fi now?

Didn't the writers say they had plans for 5 seasons? So should we expect 1 more after this?

Writers always say they have plans for x (usually 5) seasons. Just like they say things like Cumberbatch isn't playing Khan.

The thing you're implying is a load of bunk.

Just because some creatives lie doesn't mean that all creatives are always lying anytime they open their mouths in public.
