Spoilers Ready Room with Wil Wheaton

What story was that? It was never in any episode of Picard and so far their relationship is lackluster and boring. They don't even make a good, believable or interesting couple. Better to have left seven with her more borglike qualities and alone. She was a way better character in Voyager.

I'm talking about the behind-the-scenes story of how the writers put them together, which was discussed in the Ready Room. Specifically that at a wrap party for S1, Jonathan Del Arco took a photo of the two of them together. They got in close together, and somebody (maybe Del Arco, I can't recall) pronounced them a hot lesbian couple. Ryan and Hurd thought that was an excellent idea, and pitched it to the showrunners.

They actually said a "hot lesbian couple"? I don't think many lesbian couples would like that term. But yeah they really work led out like a wet blanket. I have no interest in the as a couple at all. There is no chemistry or anything between them. Plus why does this modern trek work so hard on relationships? Sometimes I miss the days of older trek when we didn't get the sappy soap opera romantic stuff every episode.

Sorry, I may have misremembered the actual language they used. May have just been "hot couple", or something similar. Someone can correct me.

Yeah it sounds a bit strange that they would say that. They just probably saud couple. I don't watch the will wheaton show so I wouldn't know either.

Will Wheaton really needs to be in one of these shows. Amusingly, I envisioned him as basically Rios in one of my head ideas.

Traveler powers? Nah, Wesley has become an obnoxious tramp freighter captain like the Outrageous Okona.

I'm still holding out hope, however how unlikely at this point, that they would get back to 2401 and noticed something off like Tasha Yar in command of the D, or Harry Kim didn't survive the journey home. Perhaps, the Traveller thing never happened.

I just want them not to know what happened when they get back, wherever "there" is. Or maybe for Picard to be the only one who remembers so no repetition happens.

The show runner had said the season 3 story is self contained. So if anything changes it won’t be important to the story

Soo...Harry Kim not surviving Voyager's journey in the Delta Quadrant. Not important to the TNG folks.

:shifty:

Wil wasn't always positive with Picard on Ready Room. (thought he was 99.9% of the time)

Like he basically criticized the choice of them making the Queen's eyes black. When he watches the episodes the FX isn't always finished, so he saw some scenes with the Queen without the black eyes and thought they were better because she acted with very expressive eyes.

I really enjoy The Ready Room, but now that it has spanned over so many series, I wish they'd make it searchable on its own on Paramount+. The only way to find it seems to be to look under whatever season is active.

On YouTube it has its own Playlist under Paramount+.

Funny thing is, I'm so used to seeing him as himself these days that when I saw him, my first thought was, "Hey, it's Wil Wheaton!" Only after that did I realize, "Wait, is he playing Wesley?"
