Season 2 of Picard has the best opening credits (incl. main theme) of all Trek shows so far

Another aspect i love about the S2 opening credits is how all the images in it work kinda like a characterization of Jean Luc and all he went through since at least "Q, Who?" or "Best Of Both Worlds".

Almost like a concise and definite explanation of himself and his experiences so far.

Does anyone recognise the tiny ship on the intro sequence? It's not La Sirena. There's like 2 episodes left for it to show up:lol:

The imaginery is ok, but the arrangement of the theme is really awful imho. I liked the one in the first season.

Say what you want about the show but this needs to finally be said!

Such a beautiful blend of images and music! Better than all other Star Trek shows before!

Haven't ever skipped the opening credits so far and probably never will!!!
I totally agree! I watch it on repeat.

Anyone know when the season two soundtrack is released? Also enjoying the subtle First Contact ques.

I hope that we get lots and lots of ‘legacy’ music/soundtrack next season.

I love the season 2 intro and have also watched in on repeat online. Love that there's more going on in the background and the music really helped to build excitement, especially for the first few episodes this season. Only part I don't like is at the end when Picard's face appears..it's a bit too over the top there, but everything else sounds great.

I liked the season 1 intro music as a piece of music, but not necessarily as the theme song to a TV show. Season 2 music fits better for me.

Surprisingly there has been a lot of talk about ENT opening credits in this thread. I do like this season 5 intro someone came up with (and yes, I do prefer Archer’s theme over the song):

Every now and again I'll try putting a different song over the top of the Enterprise credits, timed to end at the right moment, just to see if I can make that bloody title sequence work. Things like the Generations theme, the First Contact theme, the Picard season 2 theme, the Stargate Atlantis theme... U2's Beautiful Day. I think the closest I ever got was putting the Dragon Trainer Tristana Login Screen music from League of Legends over it (started 56 seconds in).

I have never felt the need to do this with the Picard season 2 credits.

The S1 version of the theme was much better in my opinion. In fact, the S1 arrangement is one of my absolute favorite themes for a Trek show. It's a beautiful piece of music. I was pretty disappointed that they re-arranged it for S2.

It wasn't epic enough imho, considering the fate of the galaxy was at stake during Season 1 ;)

By the way, on a side note, for those that still don’t know it, Picard’s theme is based on something that Kamin’s son played in The Inner Light.

That's pretty awesome. I didn't know that. The Inner Light has some great, beautiful music associated with it.

Yes. That is why Jay Chattaway gets credit in the closing credits.

I really do like the opening credits. I can see inspiration from Game of Thrones.
