Anyone know of any decent Black Widow figures that don't cost an arm or a leg, no way I am paying $400 + for a lump of plastic that will sit on a shelf?

My friend scored me the new Black Series Client figure from The Mandalorian, part of the new Omega Wave that includes the Rosario Dawson Ahsoka. I'm supposed to get him in my hands tomorrow.

Here's three of the figures in the Omega Wave:

What size/scale of figure? Marvel Legends is generally good quality for six inch scale, and many of their figures can be found for $20 or so. I'm thinking of getting the recent Black Widow figure that comes with a motorcycle. It's about $40 new in package, or $25 used without packaging.

If you want twelve inch scale, then there's no way to avoid paying an arm and a leg for something of decent quality.

What scale are you looking for? What style, accessories, comic line, etc?

As @Kor said Marvel Legends (6 inch scale) is a decent way to go for articulation, and sculpting.

Oh I know there's no way to avoid paying a price for a larger one..... I have a 12 inch Marilyn Monroe but that was a Barbie and she cost me $120 but most of the nice Widows are around $500 or more and that's Australian dollars. There is a version of her in Barbie done as Black Widow with the actual costume and that's like $89 ish It doesn't look too bad for my liking I might end up getting that one and pop her next to Marilyn

You might like the Hot Toys version. Though I am looking at US Dollars.

I haven't looked much on Ebay not too trusting of them as I have been burned once or twice.
I completely understand that. I tend to be wary of newer sellers but look very closely and carefully for what I am looking for and at the sellers.

But, I'm also not a collector so perfection is not my concern.

Even for collectors, eBay sellers tend to be much better than Walmart, and sometimes Amazon. At least that's my experience with buying from sellers located in the same country. I try to buy from sellers with 99.5% good feedback or better, and a substantial transaction history. Then you can tell they actually know what they are doing.

It's really frustrating how an actual retail store gets all these exclusive figures, but then they send them out in flimsy envelopes that invariably result in the product packaging getting mangled. I don't keep most figures in the package, but I carefully cut away the plastic bubble so I can save the cardback in a binder, and I like to have it in presentable condition.

Exclusives tick me off more than anything else, especially now when Toys R Us being out of the USA and a lot more expensive to get now for some unique items. Wal-Mart is driving me crazy with the exclusives and them not being available in stores. So aggravating.

Just came to me I'd might share this here with some who don't visit the SF&F forum, but I'm running the current Avatar Contest there, and it's about toys. Might be of interest to some here, whether to actively participate or just to look at the entries (and vote, once the poll goes up).

Thanks, Kai! I will have to work on one. I meant to with the Disaster one but it never came to be.

I've been getting back into action figures and related toys/memorabilia lately, mostly interested in 80s and 90s, and thus have started going toy hunting at flea markets. Last weekend I was quite lucky with what I found, but I haven't gotten around to taking pictures of the haul yet.

That said, I did post pictures of my first few hauls over in the Last Purchases thread, but I'm going to post them here in the future. So here I repost those.

These are a flea market haul from March:

Didn't know what the space-viking one was, but the Copyright mark said 1995 Toy Biz, it looked cool and only cost one Euro, so I took it, anyway. JD was kind enough to identify it as Ares from the Hercules: The Legendary Journeys line.
The two McDonald's toys are a 90s Joker Car, and it's in great condition for its age. The Yosemite Sam is quite recent, but I still liked it, and they were also a Euro each.

My favorite (and first find of the day) was the bootleg Godzilla 1986:

Everything except the fins on the back look absolutely like Godzilla. It's such an obvious bootleg, it's kind of amazing how they still were very common around here back in the day. It was only three Euros, and looking up Ebay, it was quite the deal. I do hope I will eventually add a proper Imperial Godzilla from the era to my collection.

This next haul I bought online:

All vintage Kenner DC figures. Iron Winch Batman from the Dark Knight Collection, the three others from the Super Powers line. They are in remarkable condition, so I have to think they spent the majority of the past decades on card and were only taken out of their packaging recently.

I do love how the cloth capes were able to drape over the shoulders:

Again, photos from my most recent additions to my collection will follow in the next few days, and I might eventually add also pictures of my Bandai kaiju toys (Godzilla, Gamera and Ultraman) that I've had for over a decade now.

I like to support local brick and mortar hobby shops when buying action figures. Their pricing can be all over the place, though. They may have some figures that are significantly cheaper than typical online prices, but other figures that are marked higher than online prices. Over the weekend I went to a shop in another city that I hadn't been to before. They had some NECA figures that sell online for $42, priced at $25. But then they had a number of Star Wars Saga and TVC figures that sell online for $20, marked at $30.

So when you are looking for a particular figure, it's helpful to have a good idea of what prices they are typically listed at.

Unfortunately, the only local shop that sells vintage toys and memorabilia is a mess. The owner puts no effort into tidying up, so much so that you can only walk along a line of six feet, every other space is taken up by old books, magazines, and such. When I was last there about two months ago, he only had a couple of figures, not even good ones, and it was pretty clear he wasn't really interested. Although, I'm pretty sure there were more figures, but you simply couldn't find them. You couldn't even really look for them, because everything was stacked rather unsteady, and any attempt to move things could have caused an avalanche. Apparently, the owner makes his money almost exclusively on vintage video games.

I'd really love a proper vintage toy shop in my area, especially since YT videos like these show me what's possible:
