Even after he's revealed to be Maurice Picard? That's some right proper disassociative stubbornness.I have a friend who even now is insisting that the character played by that Callis guy is actually supposed to be Doctor Bashir.
It's a time travel story, there's no reason why Doctor Bashir can't be Picard's dad!

A couple of reflections on the “there is more” part…
1) we still don’t know what shattered the glass in the conservatory. I found it quite interesting that it was not shattered in the confederation timeline, also.
2) we know from “when no one has gone before” that Picard’s mother lived to very old age. Given that they hired an actor that resembles the one of that episode I don’t think the writers forgot about this.

I loved this show until the previous episode and I thought it was Bashir through most of this ep, because every time you turn around it’s a legacy character or actor showing up. Dude shouldn’t get exasperated if you cast a medical character in a starfleet suit who looks just like Siddig in a show rife with fanwankery.
I can't really see this at all. It doesn't have anything like the same fit or fabrics.
The tops of the First Contact style uniforms had quilted grey gabardine material with vertical stitches and batting to bulk them up. All that is is completely absent here.
It was kind of like a Voyager/early DS9 type uniform (poorly tailored!) with First Contact-esque colors?
ETA: I guess I can't post pictures, but that uniform was really a bizarre look, to me. Close enough to make you wonder if they were aiming for something and just missed, but different enough to make you think they might have been proposing a yet-unseen new design.

You should've known better. Bashir is a DS9 character. This show only has TNG and VOY characters.
I can see how you'd get confused, especially if you hadn't seen the 2000s Battlestar Galactica.

Not where I was going with that. I was going more in the direction of "DS9 gets snubbed compared to its two sister series, and it's not going to stop now!", but I know what you're saying. It's all good.
TNG is Marcia ("Marcia! Marcia! Marcia!"), DS9 is Jan, and VOY is Cindy.
