Will 52 episodes a year be enough?

Of course not. Why would it?
You don't think there are fans who would expect it to go on for more than two or three years? I'm speaking to them, I guess. There's gotta be at least somebody here who's thinking "this goes for 18 years, like Berman-era Trek, because that's the established pattern."

Maybe. I don't see how they could with any knowledge of how show productions work.
52 episodes a year is ridiculous. There, I said it.
But if that's what keeps the subscriptions going, that's what keeps the subscriptions going. I'll watch what I like, ignore what I don't like, and catch up on whatever I'm in the middle about some point later.
I don't expect to like everything they put out and, unlike other people, I don't feel an equally ridiculous compulsion of "I have to watch it all!" Because the answer is no: I don't have to watch it all.
The way some people are here, you'd think someone was holding a gun to their head and forcing them to watch. "I have to watch it all!" No. Go do something better with your time.

If the model works for CBS then they should do it.
I think it's fine for now because we're at the beginning of five Trek series a year. But after a while, not so much...
Since like five of the 52 are actually any good, I'd say it's way too much.
One key difference is that Paramount owns and has total control of Star Trek, and with Halo they’re just hosting Microsoft’s property, in an adaptation produced by Spielberg’s Amblin.
They’ll make money off Halo, for sure, but they have to share that profit with its owners.
I think they’ll keep the 50 or so episodes a year going for as long as they find it’s financially viable, and that could easily last several years. I think about the number or live action DC shows on the CW, or number of NCIS, or FBI, or various Chicago procedurals, or Law & Order series, and how long they’ve lasted, and it doesn’t seem like the number of Trek shows has to go down soon.
It won’t, can’t, and I think probably shouldn’t last forever. No era of any property/franchise is unending, and this is no different. Hopefully they keep making shows that have a somewhat unique style and voice and that I enjoy, but who knows how long it’ll last.
