So a conversation in another thread, brought up an interesting idea for a conversation in this thread. Are there any animals you're afraid of?
The only animals I'm really afraid of are things like scorpions, and venomous spiders. I used to be more afraid of bees, but I've been stung twice out on my bikes rides, and I was OK, so that made a little less afraid. I still try to avoid being stung again, since it hurt like hell, but I don't panic when I see them as much as I used to.

I’m actually afraid of horses lol. They’re so big. I have a friend who was boarding her horse at a farm where a horse bit the farmer in the face. The farmer died from the infection. Also they are very lörge and I fear falling off one and getting trampled into goo.

Horses have bitten, kicked, and thrown me so I keep my distance now. But most animals have their scary moments. I knew a girl who woke up a dog and he bit her nose off even though they had a very friendly history. He was startled and acted defensively.

Yikes.

Pretty much everything is Australia is to be feared, but no chance I'll ever get there.
Yeah, that is my one and only issue with Australia.
Just make sure you get the bee stinger out right away.
I think the first one I left it in until my mom pulled it out for me when I got home. That was the first time I'd been stung since I wasp got me as a kid, so as soon as I realized what happened I headed right home. I spent the whole bike ride home terrified I was going to suddenly have a bad reaction.

Oh yeah, I'm cautious around any animals, even my own dogs in certain situations. In the right kind of situation, even the most well behaved animals can be dangerous.
To me the important thing is to be aware of this and be careful when you are in those situations, and to know what to do to avoid them if you can.
I know a lot of people are scared of big animals, but it's the little things that can sneak up on you, and hide in things like your shoes or under a rock I kicked over that scare me. At least with big animals, like horses, you know where they are and what they're doing.

Being around cattle makes me uncomfortable because they are docile but could easily crush a person by accident if they got spooked especially in an enclosed space. I was kicked by a cow once and it sent me flying through the air. I'm amazed it didn't break any ribs.

Yikes. I've never really been around cattle, but there are some feral cattle out where we've seen the donkeys, and my mom is a lot more nervous about running into them. From what she's said, they're a lot more dangerous than donkeys.

That's sound advice. The temperament of a donkey and cow is very different and a cow is much more likely to become aggressive and territorial and they can run fast. I'm always wary when out walking in the countryside to avoid cows and if there are calves or a bull I steer well clear of that field. I've read stories of dog walkers being killed by cows and it's usually when calves are present.

Yeah, she says we shouldn't even go through the fence if we see the cattle, but the donkeys are no problem.

Speaking of donkeys, Monte The Singing Donkey is one of my favorite Instagram accounts, and Geobeats Animals did a video with his "mawm" talking about him.

So, as I described in another thread - I volunteered to watch over my neighbor's Guinea pigs for a couple of days while they went to Maui. No problem, they’re pretty low maintenance — docile, a bit skittish, but tell you when they’re hungry by a whistling noise, etc.

The only issue? They neglected to tell me Momma Pig was just a weeeee bit pregnant.. so I picked up a crate of three pigs on Thursday afternoon, and came downstairs on Friday morning to find seven Guinea pigs!:shrug::rofl::rofl:

One of the youngsters didn’t make it, unfortunately, but this one I must say has captured my heart… think I’m going to adopt him/her.

Allow me to introduce… ‘Mocha’:
