News Obi-Wan Kenobi series premiering on May 27

I'm desperately hoping we don't see Vader!
Inclusion of elements, whether regarded dumb or not, actually depends on how they are used within the story. Setting yourself against it on zero information like that can only ruin it for one, even if Vader's appearance turns out to make everything better.

I've felt about the same way about the inquisitors when they were introduced in Rebels, because with spinning light sabres and strange faces, they looked like video game level bosses, or typical cartoon adversaries made to look intimidating, and more sabre overload with poor attempts to make somebody to remind you of Maul (or perhaps Vader) in their appearance. Less about the obvious desire of the Empire to hunt of the Force sensitive people.

Ahsoka novel improved on that, and now I'm trying to set my dislike aside completely, and from the trailer, they appear to be part of a more fleshed out narrative on persecution, and a fundamental part of the story, and these hermit Ben Kenobi's 20 years. Not some random villains injected to provide challenge for the characters, like they felt initially.

My only complaint is how uncle Owen survived that.

That was pretty cool trailer. I knew there was a chance we'd see some Inquisitors, but I didn't expect to see The Grand Inquisitor and Fifth Brother from Rebels. I love that they're bringing so many of the animated characters into the live action shows, and having them interact with characters from the movies, who are played by their original actors, it really helps to make it all feel like it really is one big universe.

I just read this article on IGN, where they say that Obi-Wan leaves Tatooine to lead Reva and the Iquisitors away from Luke, but I had assumed it was the other way around, that Luke was going after Reva.
They also theorize that this could lead to Obi-Wan faking his death, which makes me wonder if maybe that's where the name Ben comes from. He fakes his death as Obi-Wan Kenobi, and starts using the name Ben as a new identity. The only problem with this is that I believe they do refer to him as Ben Kenobi in A New Hope, and using the same last name isn't much of a cover.

"The Jedi cannot help who they are. Their compassion leaves a trail."

Finally. After so many years of hoping for a film, a series, anything with Ewan McGregor returning as Obi-Wan, it's almost here.

The trailer did exactly what it set out to do, teasing what's to come without revealing any of the plot beats. I could almost be content with this as the only trailer until May 25.

I loved seeing the Inquisitors in the flesh, both old and new. Hopefully we'll see plenty of them throughout.

I wonder if there was a specific reason they didn't give The Grand Inquisitor the elongated head that the animated version and all of the other Pau'ans we've seen have? We first saw them in Revenge of the Sith with those heads, so it's something that they can do in live action, and isn't a animation only thing.

I wish this was as a movie. Especially since they would release a blu ray for it.
Funny how McGregor is now the perfect age for the character now since they had to age him up in the movies.

If that’s the Grand Inquisitor shouldn’t Lorca be playing him?

Contradicting the original SW movie is an inherently awful idea and no amount of "good execution" will possibly excuse it. I will not alter in that belief even if the Kenobi series is friggin' phenomenal. Some things should be sacrosanct.

We’ve already seen him in the concept art and his breathing is in the trailer.

It’s been confirmed that Vader is in the show.

In the show, yes. But exactly how remains to be seen. Even concept art lies. I'm clinging to my delusions for two more months!

Nothing is sacrosanct.
