I just looked up some publicity photos from the time, when the TNG cast did the movies and other "cast in civies"-photos, and Michael's goatee much like the recent one was most of the time present, sometimes including the part under the nose. But it is kinda obvious and would fit into the time, now that they are shooting season 3. Coincidence? I don't think so.
I think the moustache part was always a glue on. From season 2 to 7 of TNG the goatee is real. On DS9 the whole goatee was apparently a glue on.
That is very possible too. But given the interview Akiva Goldsmith gave SFX, it's very likely LaForge, Beverly and Worf make appearances in season 3.
What about Wesley? He'd be the only crew member missing.
I feel like even if they got all the old characters back and put them on an exact replica of the Enterprise D it still wouldn't become TNG 2.0 because of the tone and how it's telling a single story over each season.
In 20 episodes, you can easily have Geordi appear in a few scenes that focus on synth engineering and meeting Data's daughter, perhaps reminiscing about Lal and the friendship Data and Geordi had to give Soji more background. Beverly can appear as the captain of the Pasteur that helps treat people after some fight or disaster, and Worf can appear as the captain of the Enterprise at the end of the season. If you take the scenes that had Data, Riker, or Troi in it, they're not actually that long, and critically help move the story forward or provide background. None of their appearances were distracting from the main storyline.
It's not going to be a parade of cameos.
Everyone who appears on Picard has to serve a function in the story.

Adventures on a starship doesn't equate to TNG 2.0, particularly since no one knows the context. That being said, I would welcome the opportunity to see Picard in the centre chair again, if but for a few episodes. We'll have had two seasons of Renegade Picard at that point, so it would be a change.
No, it's not. Sir Patrick said in a recent interview (I believe it was the SFX magazine one) that the ones who make the show always strictly followed his request of doing new things and not simply re-hashing TNG. So, even if Jean-Luc is aboard a Federation starship in the third season it doesn't automatically mean he's gonna sit down in the captain's chair again on a permanent basis.
I could see Picard as a VIP on somebody else's ship in an advisory or diplomatic capacity.

I don't think that should really be the title, some people might be trying to go in blind and it's a spoiler.

It's from the actual publicity part of the show. What they want to and did put out there, as hype and for people to discus, as much as Q, Guinean, the Borg Queen etc, are.
People love the ships as much as the characters who get their own threads. Now there is a thread to discus it.

Unlike the Ent-D, there are only two seats below the horseshoe. Captain seems to be on the left. The right is for XO? But Jurati was gravitating toward it in the clip.
Or in this case convenient for a certain Admiral on the bridge
