Adam Soong? They're running out of names for Soongs, aren't they?
Someone upthread posted an intriguing idea (see below) about the Soong lineage, and why they all look like one another. Also why this new character is named Adam. I thought it was pretty clever (and great if actually correct).
And least it is normal.
Short for Adamantium Soong.
Jurati in the red dress looks like she's about to do the Mirror's Edge theme song.... That kind of looks like how that clip started too.
Given how… umm… weird (trying to come up with a somewhat nice word here) their Trek marketing strategy seems to be (and not just in this case), I very much doubt this is deliberate - it makes no sense to produce trailers (this DOES cost them money after all, the people who put the trailers together expect to be paid) and to then post them and make them disappear again. If you have a trailer you normally want for people to see it and be able to see it AGAIN because sharing trailers and screencaps and whatnot is what creates hype.
This is more likely a case of “the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing”. Someone probably handed out trailers that weren’t supposed to be handed out just yet.
Only two weeks left until the new season airs. Two trailers have been leaked and then deleted. They are running out of time to do anything productive with either, at this point!

They’re messing things up royally right now on more than one front. I wouldn’t be surprised if they pull another Disco and yank the show from Prime in the last minute. (I know Prime has promoted the new season already, but still.)
Not sure where you're located, but in the UK at least Disco is still on Prime (although not part of the bundled package admittedly)?
Not going to lie - i love this idea - could Sir Pat have soften since his "not in uniform, not Captain of the Enterprise" ultimatum, the final (maybe, maybe not-again another topic of debate) is one last adventure on a Starfleet vessel
Call me old fashioned, but I do tend to prefer my Star Trek about a crew of folk in Starfleet uniform! (though it does dampen the hope that the Captain of the mystery ship is LaForge or Worf)
If anyone's going to show up commanding a mystery Starfleet ship it should be Captain Ensign Harry Kim.
Acting Captain. Still wearing one pip. It's an academy ship and the captain and first officer were killed leaving Ensign Kim as ranking officer as the ECH is offline and Neelix isn't around.

Gotta be honest, I'd prefer to see more of non-Starfleet life in this show - we have the SF angle in almost every other show. That said, I wouldn't mind Elnor joining SF, it would make a lot of sense for him. But almost everyone else? I hope it's just temporary and we're in for more civilian adventures.

It doesn't seem like they'll be wearing the uniforms much this season either way.
Agreed. One of the biggest appeals of the show for me was that it showed Starfleet from an outsider's perspective. I'd hate to lose that.
