At least we know now that Bo-Katan just let him have the Darksaber unless there was some fight that we won't see onscreen until Season 3 of The Mandalorian. Bo-Katan is Mandalorian through and through but she's also realistic and I don't think she would see a pointless to-the-death-or-injury fight with Mando as in her best interests given the Moff Gideon situation that had just gone down.
Loved the banter during the ship building scene! I need to find a way to use "The last thing you want strangling your thrust capacitor is a vapor manifold" in common conversation.
Oh, no, definitely, she sensed his wavering. I just meant that she still went through the motions of asking both parties instead of just singling out Din, so that she didn't sound accusatory. Which leads me to believe it's a fairly commonly asked question/test in the cult.
The Book of Boba Fett has been sort of limping along, until now, although I'm not sure it was even fair to brand this one an episode of the Book. More like a preview chapter of the next season of the Mandalorian. It was, hands down, far and away the best episode of this series so far, and I'd rank it in the top five episodes of The Mandalorian. So many great callbacks both to the PT and the prior seasons of Mando. Anyone else get a Telos / Citadel Station (KOTOR-2) vibe from the scenes on the Dyson Ring? I'm not 100% sold on the new ride, but it does look pretty wizard- I'll give it that. He can't live in it or transport passengers, that's for sure. When he flew the N-1 into Beggar's Canyon, I just busted an ear-to-ear, 8 year old, cheese-eatin' grin. Interesting too that this one was directed by Bryce Dallas Howard instead of Robert Rodriguez. Seems the girl definitely has a nose for what makes Star Wars, Star Wars.
I'm thinking that she didn't feel like she could take him one on one. At least not yet. Mando specifically mentioned that he won it from Moff Gideon, not that he got to keep it after a fight with Bo-Katan.
She was smart. Mandalore is gone, anyways, so she had little to gain from slaying or wounding Mando in combat for a sword that gives her titular control over devastated ruins. I know she'd like to rule over Mandalore once more but reality probably hit home. Her world is vaporized glass and rubble.
It looked like the armorer was forging chain links from the beskar, so maybe some sort of armor shirt for the little guy? Whatever it is was small /collapsible enough to tie up in a handkerchief.
Wow, what an episode. So many callbacks to so many other things, and even other franchises. And yet they were all awesome. That episode left me with such a huge grin that I think that I may have enjoyed it more than any other single episode of any D+ show so far. Wizard!
I never cared that much for the N-1 design but I do like ths variant of it. While cool it does not really fit his needs but would be a fantastic parasite fighter to a larger replacement craft
It's fun but yeah a fighter craft isn't really a ship you'd want to live out of. I guess like the Firespray I'm a bit confused by the Razor Crest. I had always thought that was the name of his ship but here the way they were talking it sounded like a type of ship. "I never said I had a Razor Crest. I said I had a replacement for a Razor Crest." "These are a lot harder to come by than some plain old Razor Crest." "Did you used to fly a Razor Crest?" So I guess it's like saying "Take the Camry and pick up the kids.".
Fighter's got some good speed though. Hyperspace might be tricky without an astromech, but it has been over three decades since the N1 was top of the line. Maybe they can squeeze in a nav computer in these days. It is tiny though next to an X-wing.
You don't need an astromech to jump to hyperspace, but they typically can hold/process more routes than an onboard navicomputer (at least one small enough to fit on a starfighter) can.

Well, it wouldn't be much of a cult without reputative rituals and chants to enforce behavioural norms and uniform thought patterns, would it? I think at this point he fells he has nowhere else to go. I mean this has been his whole life since childhood. He doesn't' know any other way to be . . . yet. This is the way. It's not about being able to take him in a fight (she almost certainly can) it's as Gideon said; it's about the story. "Slaying the perpetrator of the Great Purge in the Night of a Thousand Tears and reclaiming the Darksaber to reunite the scattered peoples on Mandalore once again" is the story she was hoping for. "Slaying the nobody bounty hunter/foundling Child of the Watch right after he defeated the perpetrator of the Great Purge in the Night of a Thousand Tears and reclaiming the Darksaber only to have it snatched away by a twice failed pretender to the throne in a greedy power grab" is the story that would be told if she challenged Dyn. The former would have gotten her an army of loyal warriors, the latter would have gotten her an endless string of challengers and more infighting that they can't afford. Hell even Sabine's "stole it from the witch haunted treasure horde of the Shadow of the Crimson Dawn" story is better than that one! So for now she just has to bide her time and keep on building her forces. Maybe she's planning to build Dyn up in power before making an open challenge, maybe she's debating with herself whether or not she even wants to try and rule again. Maybe she thinks it's time to bring Sabine back into the fold and convincer her to try and rule instead. I always took the idea that he never named it as part of the whole "weapons are part of my religion" thing. Maybe The Creed frowns on giving names to weapons and that just like a sigil or clan, such things must be earned with great deeds (like the Darksaber.) So a "true" Mandalorian wouldn't name a ship for the same reason they wouldn't name their blasters or vibro-blade. That's a thing about Star Wars technology that a lot of fans seem to have misapprehensions about: there's little if any real technological development from one century to the next, let alone one decade. Everything has already been invented, and if they're not using it, it's probably a matter of expense, or practicality. There may be refinements and small improvements, but 99.9% of the time they're just rediscovering or reinvented something old that just fell out of use for one reason or another. After all; the N-1s were hand crafted because it was a prestigious craft in a time when bespoke artisan engineering was in vogue, not because they didn't have droids that could do the work for them. TIEs didn't lack for shields, hyperdrives and life support because the technology wasn't available; they lacked those things because they were supposed to be cheap and disposable, just like the people that piloted them. The Jedi didn't use Deltas and Etas that needed hyper-rings to jump because the tech wasn't compact enough, they did so because it allowed their ships to be lighter, faster, more manoeuvrable, and an external ring had a larger fuel capacity meaning it had greater range than an onboard drive ever could. Similarly; having a droid socket seems more a matter of efficiency than necessity. I mean think about it; astronavigation is just ONE thing an R2 or a C1 is built to do, so presumably the astronavigation computer itself is somewhere inside it; so it's by definition smaller than the droid and thus not an issue of compactness. Half the point of the droid is to act as co-pilot and on-board mechanic; meaning they don't have to add extra mass to the ship installing a separate navicomp because the droids are plug & play. So yeah, she just probably shoved in an old navicomp in there somewhere.
WOW!! That episode of The Mandalorian was fantastic!!! I think I have a new favourite Star Wars ship!!!! Will the new Bobba Fett episode air later today?
Yeah, the joke has been cracked a lot already. But honestly.... I enjoy TBOBF sofar. It's not a great show but entertaining. It's kinda weird though that its best episode so far was basically an episode of the Mandalorian.....
