Spoilers "Superman & Lois" Season 2

Anyone has any idea what the plan is for this season? I can only find info on the first 4 episodes. I guess Olympics break again, but then what?

 

Superman vs Doomsday I’m Guessing.

 

DC has announced a canon comic tie-in crossover for this season of the CW shows. Six issues over three months, with one each for Batwoman, Superman & Lois, Legends of Tomorrow, Stargirl, and The Flash, with the final issue being the actual cross-over incorporating all the characters.

I'm a little confused by the description of this one. The cover-art and backstory for Evil Alternate Universe Superman suggests it's in the present-day, but the main premise describes what has to be a flashback story. I guess there must be some kind of framing sequence involved, or there's a main story and a back-up story and the cover reflects neither of them.

 

Evil Superman? Wasn’t it confirmed to be Zod?

 

"Confirmed" is a strong word. They deduced that Alternate Universe Superman lacked the emotional connection to Earth that let our Clark fight off the influence of the Eradicator, but we know so little about him, anything could've happened. Even if our characters are right, the specifics are vague enough there could still be a story there.

 

Well, at least they didn't go for the Lois dies so Superman becomes evil cliche that's been in the comics for decades.

 

The most believable of motivators, would need to be losing something dear to him, whether that's the woman he loves, a total betrayal by those he's tried to protect (e.g. government or world leaders plotting against this super-powered alien, etc.). That would fit and be relatable to the audience, rather than Superman being under the control of someone (planet-side or off-world), or anything that takes personal responsibility for his actions away from him.

 

Too bad it’s only in the comics. Oh, well I’m sure it’ll be released in a trade paperback.

This episode was OK.
Kal and Tal meeting with Lara was pretty cool, although it was obvious Tal was going to turn on them once they go there. But instead of lying about not having his powers, I expected him to use something in the Fortress to restore them.
I'm glad they revealed Doomsday and that Sarah kissed someone else at camp already. I was expecting those stories to go on for a few more episodes before we got any answers.
Not at surprised by Lana running for Mayor, it was pretty obvious that was where all this was headed as soon as they mentioned a Mayoral election.

 

I initially read that as "Doomsday and Sarah kissed." Now, that would've been a plot twist.

 

I'm reminded of how they portrayed Doomsday in Smallville.

How? Another 'meteor of the week' teenage mutation? (Never really watched Smallvile beyond the point it started devolving to that.)

 

Devolving? That was basically just the first season. Sure you have some later on but they’re usually just sequels.

 

I actually really liked how they handled Doomsday on Smallville, at least initially. The idea of this decent human being a disguise, and in many ways not even real, for a mindless monster had a tragic quality about it. Granted, by the tail end of season 8 the writers completely obliterated the concept to the point even the actor hated what was being done.

 

The only thing I didn’t like on Smallville was how the Doomsday story ended. With the human side basically becoming like the monster side and killing Jimmy. Didn’t work for me.

 

I'd follow Futon Critic. They keep a fairly tight schedule of the next few months of upcoming episodes of various show.

 

So looks like at least 2 weeks off.

 

I’ve been watching a lot of Smallville recently so when Jordan told Clark he wanted to tell Sarah the secret I couldn’t help but laugh. He’s probably thinking “not this again”

I like that they went back to red for the heat vision rather than Supergirl’s blue. It looks way more intimidating.

Bizarro is in the Doomsday suit. What a swerve.

 

So it’s not Doomsday, but Bizzaro. Or maybe they’re combining the two.

Has Bizzaro ever been done in live action before?
