Spoilers "Superman & Lois" Season 2

I take it you didn't watch Teen Wolf, which starred Tyler Hoechlin in the first 4 seasons and featured Ian Bohen in a recurring role in the 1st - 4th and 6th seasons. Loved that show, and eagerly anticipating the movie sequel they're working on.

Nope. I was barely aware of that show.

For a second when Lana & Clark were discussing their marriage issues and broke out the wine, I was afraid we were going to get a drunken hook up, and I'm very glad they didn't go that route.

Well, Clark can't get drunk, and he'd never do that anyway.

So it looks like we're getting a new version of Death of Superman? I haven't read the comics, but from what I've seen online the issues leading up the miniseries ended with a fist punching through rock like we saw here. Definitely curious to see what their take on Doomsday will be like.
If they go so far as the kill Superman, I wonder if that will be what finally motivates Jordan to become Superboy? It'll also be interesting to see what role Anderson's Super team plays in the story, since I don't think there was a group like that in Death or Reign of the Supermen.

I hope they don't do that. We already got the Death of Superman thing in the movies, and it didn't turn out well at all. I hope they do something fresher with it.

And they couldn't do anything that close to Reign of the Supermen. They've got Steel, but they already dealt with the Eradicator last season, Hank Henshaw was on Supergirl years ago, and the clone Superboy is over on Titans and is thus probably off-limits to the Arrowverse. So it would have to be a different story.

I have far greater confidence in this show doing the "Death of Superman" story then those responsible for the film series. While TV doesn't have the budget to showcase what. affirm can, they do have the run time (if so inclined) to really flesh out a story, something that is far, far harder to do with a films restriction on time.

And while Lois isn't justified to take her anger out on Clark, its a very human thing to do. She felt he was pressing her to do something she wasn't ready to face and because of that becomes the initial focus of her internal strife, that slowly spreads to other aspects of her daily life. Seems rather human to me. And its clear that Clark is aware of it, and trying to give her time to process it, and only makes a serious issue of it when she really crosses a line. That also works really well with me.

And either Sarah meet someone (even if nothing happened, just being attracted to someone else), or time away made her realize that she was moving way to fast (thanks to all the end of the world events that we're happening), and that she needs to slow things down. One of those. I hope its the 2nd, but the first happens a lot.

Is the Eradicator/Morgan Edge still alive and just captured? I honestly can't remember. But I assume they'll find some way to have the Eradicator back. Even if Superman dies, I doubt they'd keep Tyler Hoechlin out of more than an episode or two, so instant Clark-looking Eradicator.

Still alive, and per producer Todd Helbing, we can expect to see him again.

Speaking of Helbing, I was listening to a podcast featuring him last night, and he said that this season will have 15 episodes (like the first season). I thought that was likely, but don't think it had been confirmed previously.

I'm sure they could -- practically anyone could -- but that still doesn't mean I want to see that storyline done yet again, because I've already seen it done too many times and it wasn't actually that good the first time around. It's become a cliche at this point. It's like Reichenbach Falls for Sherlock Holmes. Every adaptation feels they have to do it, even though it's not the best Holmes story by a long shot. It just feels like going through the motions, doing it because it's expected.

Sorta, kinda but not really.

Mitch Anderson at least takes his name from a character who first appeared in "Death of Superman" and had a nice side-plot involving a meet-up between him, Jimmy and Bibbo in Metropolis during "Funeral for the Friend" with dovetailed with the "Metropolis Mailbag" Christmas tie-in. He later acquired abilities of his own and joined a Lex Luthor sponsered group called the Supermen of America which totally wasn't a rip-off of the Teen Titans.

LexCorp also operated a group of armoured goons called Team Luthor during the same period (established shortly before Death of Superman and seem to have been stood down some time after the "Fall of Metropolis" event a short time later*)

* Around "Knightsend" or "Judgment Day".

I hope not, since it was already handled so well on film.

Perhaps Anderson follows his comic namesake's path and becomes Outburst, and ihe's the one who kills Superman as a season finale plot?

He's already asking to be SM's back-up, so that might be something that happens down the road--but in the event it does, he should be overwhelmed by the D.O.D.'s meta--or any other super-powered villains.

It'll also be interesting to see what role Anderson's Super team plays in the story, since I don't think there was a group like that in Death or Reign of the Supermen.

But Justice League Unlimite[d had a plot where government-controlled metas (the Ultimen) were used as a counter to "rogue" superheroes, of it that plot unfolds on S&L, it would be a retread of the cartoon.

The season 2 premier was my least favorite ep of the series so far. Too much teen drama. Hopefully it gets back to season 1 standards

Asking all the parents here: in your opinion Lois overreacted when she caught his son in a, err, compromising position or she was justified in her anger?

Wait! Your forgetting this is a Berlanti show, so it will probably be girl.
So? I'm thinking she's probably at right about the age where a lot of people start to realize they are gay/bi.
Nope. I was barely aware of that show.
It's great.

Well, Clark can't get drunk, and he'd never do that anyway.
That's true, but lots of shows come up with a way to justify stuff like that.

I hope they don't do that. We already got the Death of Superman thing in the movies, and it didn't turn out well at all. I hope they do something fresher with it.
The fact that it didn't turn out that well in the movies is all the reason to give it another go with S&L.

Obviously they'd have to change a lot, but Flash still managed to do their own take on Flashpoint, even though they didn't involve anyone beyond the Flash characters.

Yeah, but there is a lot of stuff from the comics that they didn't include in the movies, that they'd be able to do more of on the show.

I did not realize he was a comics' character.

I have a feeling if they go that route, they'd have to the sense to have him train, possibly with John Henry, before he actually confronts any villains.

Lots of adaptations of the same source material do similar stories.

The fact that it didn't turn out that well in the movies is all the reason to give it another go with S&L.

Except I didn't like it much the first time either, and it's been done in various forms a bunch of times since then. I'm just not interested in yet another iteration.

Yeah, and it wasn't great, because without all that other stuff, it was just your standard, cliched "Oops I made things worse trying to save someone so now I have to go kill them to fix the timeline" story. Although it was even worse with the other stuff, at least judging from the animated movie.
