Ditto plus add DUNE too.
The Tuskins seem rather Fremen like and we had a mention of an illegal 'Spice' trade. Hell, one might liken Jedi Mind control to a form of the Bene Gesserit "Voice". George really DID barrow a lot from DUNE in creating Tantooine it seems.
It's too bad Boba didn't have his armor because I think a good Tuskin name could have been: "Flies With A Jetpack".
I can't deny that I let out a little yelp when Krrsantan showed up, I did not expect to see him at all.
Yeah, that confused me too, I didn't think that was what Pykes had looked like when we saw them before.
I was a little surprised they didn't draw more attention to them, and their connection to Luke, but it was a nice little Easter Egg the way they did it.
I've never understood the spur sound, I mean I get that it's a western reference with cowboys always wearing their spurs, but I mean in universe. I've never taken a good look at his boots, but I don't remember seeing spurs, or the GFFA version, and I don't know why would need them since, as far as I know, the only time he's ridden an animal you would need spurs for was in the Holiday Special. It's also a bit weird that he'd just be walking around with them on all the time, since you usually just put them on when you're going to go riding, and take them off when you're done.
Is it just supposed to be the sound his boots/armor makes when he walks?
I think a lot of people tend to assume that if something is a desert there can't possible be any plants there, but this is not true at all. There are a few open, barren deserts, but most deserts have tons of plant life all over the place.
Really enjoyed this episode, we got some cool scenes, and it moved the plot along nicely.
I've always kind of gotten a kick out of the Hutts, so seeing the twins was fun.
I'm really enjoying the stuff with the Tuskens, it's been cool getting to see some more development for them and their culture. Ever since A New Hope I've been curious what they look like under all those ropes and the mask, and I'm kind hoping this might finally be where we get to find out.
The attack on the train was the highlight of the episode.
I saw this pointed on twitter, that arcade game the bikers were playing at Tosche Station, appears to be based on Space War from 1962, one of the earliest 'video games'.

Yeah, but I assume it's a sound he's supposed to be making.
That's not really how that kind of sound design works. It's meant to evoke a feeling more than to literally represent what noises he'd be making. Foley is almost always cranked up by at least one order of magnitude, and with a healthy dose of artistic licence as it's intended to blend into the scene rather than stand out on it's own.
So no, he's not wearing spurs. You're just meant to subconsciously associate that sound with "gunslinger".

Dances with Tuskens is pretty good!
I enjoyed them, and it’s really interesting to have a legitimate reason to go back to Tatooine and see the different cultures, etc.

The only thing that bugs me about Black Krrsantan's backstory is the timeline. The Xonti brothers seem to have been human, and not especially old looking in either of their appearances, so their enslavement/training of Krrsantan couldn't have been all that long ago relative to the OT era (20 years tops). That's hardly any time at all for a Wookiee, so either Krrsantan is a LOT younger than he looks, or he was well into adulthood when whatever he did to get himself exiled occurred (presumably a "mad claw" incident) and there's a huge, possibly centuries long chunk of his backstory that's unaccounted for. Whether that chunk of time was his life on Kashyyyk, or time spent drifting after his exile but before he decided to become a gladiator remains to be seen. Either way it seems this life as a gladiator/bounty hunter is a relatively recent development for him.
That's not a problem in and of itself of course (Chewbacca for instance was a smuggler for about as long) but it does make me wonder what he was before he was exiled. The Wookiees don't seem the sort to fail to detect the presence of a psychopath in their midst, let alone tolerate one for long. There's still a story to be told there I think.
That said, Boba's line "these are not the death pits of Duur and I am not a sleeping Trandoshan guard" seems way too specific not to be alluding to something, presumably how he escaped slavery an became a hunter. So that part at least my be accounted for.

And I don't think there's anything wrong with drawing inspiration from other films. Watch any Tarantino film and it was usually inspired by one of Tarantino's favorite movies growing up.
The Tosche Station scene was unspoiled for me. At first I didn't realize but the outside of the building looked familiar. Then I realized what it was. I was so happy. It was cool to see Camie and Fixer again even wearing the same clothes after 3 years or so since Luke left. They are probably unaware of Luke being a jedi knight, destroying the death star and facing down Vader and all his other adventures. I paused the deleted tosche Station scene and the one in book of boba fett. They did a pretty good job with the re-creation of course a bar was added or just wasn't seen in the original scene. They got the inner window right, the walls, the computer console game in the back as well as the back window. I wish George would get that scene back I'm the movies so we can see it in high def.
We wouldn't have Star Wars at all.
Mando and Baby Yoda and Mando isn't wearing his helmet and Baby Yoda has a lightsaber indicting some crazy stuff will be happening in season 3.
