Ditto plus add DUNE too.I too got Lawrence of Arabia and Dances with Wolves vibes……however I also realized maybe only 20% of people over 40 have seen both of those films. I estimate, but I’d be shocked if I was off by much.
I can't deny that I let out a little yelp when Krrsantan showed up, I did not expect to see him at all.Well that had a few surprises. I think it's the first time we've seen live action Hutts since TPM, no? Also; Black Krrsantan?! I was about to say that's the first time a comic original character has made the jump to live action, but then I remembered Aayla Secura. The first of the Disney era though, I think?
Yeah, that confused me too, I didn't think that was what Pykes had looked like when we saw them before. Were those supposed to by Pykes? Pkye Syndicate for sure, Pyke style of dress and helmet, certainly. But actual Pyke species? For now I'm going to assume the same thing I did for that "Pyke" in Solo; that it's not the same species as the Pykes we saw in TCW, but some other species that just so happens to be either a member, or subject of the Syndicate.
Either way, at least they were closer design-wise this time.
I was a little surprised they didn't draw more attention to them, and their connection to Luke, but it was a nice little Easter Egg the way they did it.It's a shame the trailers spoiled the Camie & Fixer cameos, otherwise that would have been quite a cool shock. A surprisingly faithful recreation of the Tosche Station set too. They even did a good job on the exterior without having to go back to Tunisia!
I've never understood the spur sound, I mean I get that it's a western reference with cowboys always wearing their spurs, but I mean in universe. I've never taken a good look at his boots, but I don't remember seeing spurs, or the GFFA version, and I don't know why would need them since, as far as I know, the only time he's ridden an animal you would need spurs for was in the Holiday Special. It's also a bit weird that he'd just be walking around with them on all the time, since you usually just put them on when you're going to go riding, and take them off when you're done.I’ve never liked Fett. I rolled my eyes when people said the sound of spurs confirmed Fett saved Shand in The Mandolorian
I think a lot of people tend to assume that if something is a desert there can't possible be any plants there, but this is not true at all. There are a few open, barren deserts, but most deserts have tons of plant life all over the place.I've people complain before that Tatooine shouldn't have any kind of plant life, which only makes me think they didn't pay very much attention since in ANH, there's plant life all over the place if you look. At the moisture farm, in the jundland wastes canyon, etc.
As for where the branch came from; probably an old dead tree from an old dried up oasis somewhere in the dunes.
It is an audio cue, not a visual cue.Is it just supposed to be the sound his boots/armor makes when he walks
Yeah, but I assume it's a sound he's supposed to be making. It is an audio cue, not a visual cue.
That's not really how that kind of sound design works. It's meant to evoke a feeling more than to literally represent what noises he'd be making. Foley is almost always cranked up by at least one order of magnitude, and with a healthy dose of artistic licence as it's intended to blend into the scene rather than stand out on it's own.Yeah, but I assume it's a sound he's supposed to be making.
You should see the painting.Ming-Na Wen apparently doesn’t age for some reason…
I'm over 40 and never seen Lawrence of Arabia.I too got Lawrence of Arabia and Dances with Wolves vibes……however I also realized maybe only 20% of people under 40 have seen both of those films. I estimate, but I’d be shocked if I was off by much.
H/T to @UssGlenn for catching my typo

Those were just the in-universe quotes; still plenty of hat-tips to the usual cinematic classics like Lawrence of Arabia, Last Crusade (and just about every good western train hijack ever), plus a little bit of Dances with Wolves, and that episode of the Simpsons with the chilly. . .
Episode 6 was written and directed by Dave Filoni. Who might be appearing? Ahsoka? Rex? Cad Bane? Omega?

No reason why you should unless you've seen the deleted scenes or partaken in any of the supplemental material. The characters were in the novelization, the comic adaptation and the radio adaptation. No sure I'd heard of "Camie and Fixer" , before people started talking about them here. But 1977 was a long time ago...
