Because doing stupid or irresponsible things due to infatuation is only for adolescents?
YES! Count me in that group too. And directly because of all you nutballs, I'm even going to try the 2 shows I dropped when they originally aired (VOY & ENT).After actively participating on this forum for a few months now, I feel like one of my most controversial opinions might be:
I like all of it. I genuinely enjoy all of the shows to varying degrees, and though I’m not uncritical, there isn’t one of them I hate at all, or have a huge objection to. None of them are perfect television series, and not all are my favorites, but I have fun watching all of it. Even the movies I enjoy the least I’ll get some fun out of rewatching.
Oh thank god I'm not the only one!Controversial opinion: I can barely tell the difference.
If I was a Bezos billionaire, I’d fund a bunch of Firefly/Serenity sequels.
Well, that and destroy all my enemies.![]()
Come on, that isn't what they said or even implied. It was just a metaphor.Because doing stupid or irresponsible things due to infatuation is only for adolescents?

Star Trek has always given me *hope*. As someone with depression, I need that. And, as @Richard S. Ta wrote above, I love the ethos & philosophy of Trek. "Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations" is a touchstone for my life.
It can't be said too often.YES! IDIC is something I try to take to heart, and that I say maybe too often in my life.

No. But it wasn't a dream -- it was a place. And you -- and you -- and you -- and you were there."TATV..." is just a myth. That's the official story and I'm sticking to it.
Neckbeards is a term frought with condescension. Hard to see the metaphor.Come on, that isn't what they said or even implied. It was just a metaphor.![]()
I am unfamiliar with the term. But you specifically mentioned the "teen" part.Neckbeards is a term frought with condescension. Hard to see the metaphor.
Yes, because the other term bothers me.I am unfamiliar with the term. But you specifically mentioned the "teen" part.
Which is why I eventually stopped watching VOY, but also why I'd kept watching it all the way up until 1999. If it was a total wash, I would've stopped watching in 1995. The good episodes are what kept me going. But eventually the constant up-and-down finally got to be too much for me.VOY was all over the map during its seven years. Easily the most inconsistent and frustrating of all the series during the "Golden Age" of Trek on TV(1987-2005).
