Possible Episode Titles for Prodigy Season 01 Episodes 6-10

After seeing Friday that Google had a title listed for the next episode of Prodigy, January 6th’s S01E06, Kobayashi, ‪‪I felt compelled to dig a little, and see if ‪‪I could find a source anywhere, and while it’s just as dubious as before (with no citation from an official/trusted source), ‪‪I think ‪‪I found where the information originated.

The Rotten Tomatoes entry for Prodigy has listings that include titles through episode 10, naming episode 06 Kobayashi as well.

Accoridng to RT we’ll get:

Jan 06 Prodigy S01E06, Kobayashi
Jan 13 Prodigy S01E07, First Con-Tact
Jan 20 Prodigy S01E08, Time Amok
Jan 27 Prodigy S01E09, A Moral Star, Part 1
Feb 03 Prodigy S01E10, A Moral Star , Part 2

While I’m somewhat skeptical of their legitimacy, the title A Moral Star is intriguing, as it’s an anagram of the setting where the series begins, Tars Lamora.

"Time Amok" (clear callback to TOS's Amok Time)

Somebody is piling on the jokes here.

I'm wondering if "A Moral Star" was originally intended as the season finale? (Before someone decided we were getting twenty episodes.) Picard ended ITS first season with a two-part ep.

Yeah, and with First Con-Tact, and Kobayashi, if these are accurate, there are several titles that are callbacks/references to Trek history/episodes.

‪‪I think that, after a fashion, it sort of still is? While the first season is 20 episodes long, just including the first 10 with all the other series in production gives us 50-53 episodes airing in a year (depending on the number of episodes in this season of Discovery), so that’s either nearly a full year, or over a full year, without the second set of 10 episodes in Prodigy’s first season.

With the final 10 episodes of Prodigy Season 1 scheduled for “sometime later in 2022,” if they air in the fall like the show began this year, it’ll be basically a season every 2 years, where episode 10 is functionally the “finale.”

Most of these titles reek of being Trek-inspired placeholders.

I might've expected such sophomoric behavior from Lower Decks. Prodigy, this is pouring it on.

If I didn't know better, I'd swear we were being trolled. :shifty:

If the titles are anything to go by... the Kobayashi one may result in a no-win scenario devised by Janeway (without necessarily telling the kids - or at least, not all of them as she would need someone with broader ship access to program the entire thing - I'm thinkin Gwyn) to see how they react and what they learn from this.

First Con-Tact... for some reason I'm reminded of VOY episode 'Live fast and Prosper'. Someone (or the kids themselves) will try to con someone and then tactfully resolve the situation.
:D

Time Amok... Amok Time (from TOS) refers to Spock's Pon Farr predominantly.
I wonder if we're going to encounter a planet full of Vulcans who are in the middle of Pon Farr, or just vulcans in general (coud be that at this point they encounter Chakotay?).

A moral star... you're right... its an anagram for Tars Lamora.
It might be possible the kids will go back there to try and liberate other slaves from the Diviner... and thus enlarging their crew or just decide to relocate them to UFP (where the second half of the season may take place).

I had also considered it may feature Chakotay and his new crew. From the title, if these do prove legitimate, ‪‪I had thought this could possibly explain the apparent temporal discrepancy between the reported setting of 2383 and the Protostar seeming to be both launched after Voyager’s return, while also having been searched for by the Diviner for what seems like most/all of Gwyn’s 17 year life on Tars Lamora.

This screams Ferengi.

It does!

Time Travel ep?

I can't see Nick piling sex into a kid's TV show (one reason Prodigy was created was to get AWAY from such explicitly adult subject matter).

Exactly! My first/last thought there was some kind of time travel/time anomaly episode story. They’re not doing say…Tellarite Pon Farr on a show meant primarily for 5-11 year olds.

There's nothing 'explicity adult' about sex because even kids are sexual creatures. That's just basic human biology... but I understand how 'sensitive' some people are about this (a product of their own ignorance and culture).

If you ask me, sex education should actually be an important part of child's education curriculum... but Trek CAN do it without going into nudity etc. (if they think that's too much for children in USA to handle - even though its nothing more than basic biology... heck, it would be fictional alien biology in the case of Trek if anything).

Besides, I wasn't suggesting they portray actual sex in Prodigy... but learning about Pon Farr for example and different mating practices of other species could be done in a way that emphasizes the importance of sex education without delving into 'explicit' aspects (or showing them).

When I was a kid, a "very special episode" was synonymous with people having sex.

The Kobayashi title for episode 6 is now confirmed by the creators, lending more credence to the rest of these names, so it’s feeling even more likely they’re all legit.

We’ll find out next week what S01E07 First Con-Tact is about, and right now, based on the name only, ‪‪I’m leaning towards your Ferengi prediction. Star Trek and con-men seem to point toward the profit obsessed folks, and
if they’re near or in the Gamma Quadrant as the map in S01E06 Kobayashi indicates, and Ferengi having demonstrated using the Bajoran wormhole to exploit business opportunities in the Delta
maybe it’s not too implausible that they’d cross paths with one.

Really? When I was a kid it was synonymous with after school special type episodes. The ones in which Alexs' friend dies in a car crash or we learn Theo is dyslexic or Dorothy has chronic fatigue syndrome or the Bowers new neighbours turn out to be a single mom who kidnapped her kid after losing the custody hearing, or a teen character tries drinking/drugs or is worried about the environment or arms race or homelessness.
