I told you they wouldn't be. I guess Dalton isn't the savior, matching Taysom Hill in INT's.

That was pure sorcery. The Bills had 9 in the box the whole second half and couldn't do anything to stop the run.

It would seem that Belichick has acquired himself a fresh new demonic contract.

    Sometimes 10.

Think about how well that will open up the playaction passing game next time they meet.

I decided to pick up the overpaid, overrated hybrid QB from New Orleans, because no matter how bad he sucks in the real game, he still provides a lot of fantasy value in total yards.

    Hill's 4 INT's were more on his own ineptitude than Dalton's 4 INT's :guffaw:

It was pretty amazing from a historical perspective. I think the talking heads said it was the least amount of pass attempts in a game since 1974. Credit the Patriots coaching staff for giving zero fuks about what any analyst or fan would think, and going with the plan they felt gave them the best chance to win the game in those conditions. Takes courage to stick to that game plan.

Overall, it really is a credit to how good the offensive line is for the Patriots as well (not to mention the WR's who did a ton of blocking and the RB's obviously).

It sets the Patriots up with a really interesting advantage for the next time they play the Bills. The playaction passing game has been excellent with Mac Jones this season, and with how much Buffalo will be geared-up to stop the run and avoid another embarrassment, playaction should be a deadly weapon.

    Interesting stuff, for sure.

I think a lot of the credit should go to that Patriot defense. Keeping Josh Allen in check allowed the Patriots to run the ball all night. Without a run game, the Bills will be roadkill come playoff time.

I do wonder if Buffalo is having some buyer's remorse locking Allen in for $43 million a year?

Good point, defense often gets overlooked in football discussions. They played lights out last night.

They can always trade him to Detroit for Goff.

Been following the Bills since 1968, so you'd think, by now, I'd know better than to believe they had an actual shot at the Lombardi this season! This is the most disappointed I've been in the Bills in many, many years.

That being said, I don't think Allen is a problem. This coaching staff knew they had no run game last year and did nothing about it. The talent of the backs and the O-line are both at fault there. Every team saw what the aerial attack did last year and plotted ways to thwart that. With no threat of a run game - coupled with lack of screen passes, etc. - more people can drop into coverage and they can still get pressure on Allen with a minimum number of pass rushers because the O-line is so poor.

Further, the defense has been gashed by the run on a regular basis - again going back to last year.

Finally, red zone offense - a huge plus last year - is ghastly this year. Apart from the shellacking by the Colts, even a slightly better TD ratio in the red zone probably gives the Bills wins in their four other losses.

Again, no personnel changes or coaching adjustments to address the lack of a run game and the inability to stop the opponent's run game and no adjustments to the red zone offense, which has been poor since game 1 this season (even in some of their 'easier' wins, too many FGs rather than TDs).

I think many of the players bought into the hype of being pre-season Super Bowl favorites and have been lackadaisical as a result. But, I think this coaching staff was eating up the same hype and, in their 'brilliance', has been stubbornly sticking to what they believe will work and refusing to make changes, despite the evidence that this is exactly what is sorely needed.

Yeah if there's one thing the Bills have that's undeniably right, its Josh Allen. But even in today's NFL the quarterback can't win it all by himself (see also: Baltimore with Lamar Jackson and Indy years ago with Peyton).
