The first season of Lower Decks introduced a recurring Andorian crew member of the Cerittos named Jennifer Sh'reyan. I must have missed where they revealed her last name, with the Sh' prefix, because I don't remember her ever being called anything more than Jennifer.

Her last name is shown onscreen in “I, Excretus.”

Thanks, that would explain how I missed it.

Are Andorians not permitted exotic names?

    "Is better name than Moron."

Oh! I missed him getting a name! Cool!

    Thank you!

Since kzinti must earn their own names (IIRC my Known Space trivia), maybe he made his own uniform? ;)

Extra-sized special one shot comics from IDW coming in 2022:

    https://intl.startrek.com/news/idws...es-the-unforgettable-legend-of-a-warrior-king

First one in february: Klingons, focusing on Kahless:
Writers Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly, two of the lead story architects on the critically acclaimed Star Trek: Year Five series, join the fan-favorite Timothy Green II (the artist of such sci-fi hits as Starlord, Annihilators, and Animal Man) to relate the legend of Kahless the Unforgettable, the greatest warrior of the Klingon Empire, from the death of his coward brother Morath to his victory at Three Turn Bridge.

    Ferengi are next in April:
Following February’s tale of the legendary Klingon warrior Kahless, IDW will continue its tour of prominent species with Star Trek: Ferengi in April, featuring the Milky Way’s most cunning and avaricious aliens.

Sounds interesting, kind of like a third volume of Alien Spotlight. Although "[Klingons] present a lifestyle that is [...] incredibly egalitarian and fair" does not seem like an accurate description...

I've really enjoyed the Disco novels and with the series being now offered only to the American elite I became worried about the new novel plans... Has any Disco novel been announced for 2022?

Don’t think it will make any difference to the publishing schedule. Although if a novel fills in events from the series, like Wonderlands, you might want to delay reading it until you’ve seen Season 4.

Yeah, I understood @David Weller as saying that the potential next Disco novel might be set after at least some events from Season 4...

After seeing season 4 premiere, without spoiling anything, I can see a new novel easily getting set between season 3 and 4.

No. So far, the 2022 Trek novel line-up consists only of a Picard novel in the spring.

I'll have to skip it then. Only seen season 1, waiting to see if 2 becomes available on Xfinity stream thi swinter before deciding if I'll buy it or not. No, I'm not singing up for CBS All Access just for a couple of shows.

Now Paramount+, eventually the home of all Trek.

It's already the home of all (screen) Trek, just not exclusively yet. (Netflix still has TNG & DS9.)

Australia's new Paramount+ only has "Star Trek" (2009), "Star Trek Into Darkness" and "Star Trek: Prodigy". But the big promise, once all the European nations and UK get Paramount+, is that we will be getting lots more/all.
