News Live-Action ‘Cowboy Bebop’ tv series in the works

Sure, the nude scene in the SG-1 pilot is gratuitous, no doubt. I fully understand the creators' preference for removing it and don't need to be convinced. I'm just saying that, on a shallower level, it's still very nice to watch.
:rolleyes:And some of us prefer something a bit deeper than that. My main issue is just that it feels so out of place, since it's not like this was Game of Thrones, where the whole thing was very adult, SG-1 on the other hand was really pretty tame other than that one scene. Even my other example of Halsey's If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power was a dark, adult movie that was based around sex and Halsey's pregnancy, so it felt more appropriate there.

I was looking at some of the other shows on their, and the content warnings are odd, The Magicians is gets pretty graphically violent, and that doesn't mention violence in the warnings either, and neither do Stargate Sg-1 or Legacies which are pretty violent at times too. SG-1 is rated TV-MA, with the only content warning being for nudity. I'm a little surprised they actually still have the version of the SG-1 pilot with the nudity, I would have thought they would have changed over to the nudity free version, since that seems to be the creators' preferred version.

Netflix does not have the same type of licenses or something like that compared to Amazons MGM stargate franchise streaming

Amazon Prime has the edited series premiere and HD upscaled versions of the seasons because they have a deal with MGM

With Amazon now owning MGM they probably have the best/better options to watch SG-1 now

You're not listening. I said I agree with you, BUT I'm also honest enough about myself to admit, as self-deprecating humor, that I have a shallower reaction AS WELL. It is possible to have more than one thought about the same thing at the same goddamn time, so I do NOT deserve your insulting condescension. You claim to prefer something deeper, but you're only reading my words on a very shallow level. People who appreciate depth are people who actually listen.

OK, but that how your post came across, it doesn't exactly help that you are one of the posters on here who most consistently comments on the attractiveness of the women in the movies and TV shows we discuss on here.

Gratuitous nudity lost its charm for me when I grew up and, you know, started dating women.

That does seem weird.

And people wonder why there are so few women on these forums.
LOL! Or maybe some of us are bi.... :D

It hasn't lost its charm for my husband yet.

Man, I never knew you were so passionate about boobies.

Don't knock insulting condescension. I mean, you just got done giving someone an unsolicited lecture on how nudity on premium cable works like you were teaching basic arithmetic to a child.

When an adult goes on a two-page rant complete with all caps and cursing over his regret at the hypothetical removal of a full-frontal nude scene from a streaming TV show that never wanted to include the scene in the first place, maybe a little bit of condescension is in order?

Talking of soft porn in an SF setting to titilate the pervy old guys among us while stimulating our inner nerd, I wonder if Netflix would consider making a TV version of Barbarella?

Apparently, the only place you can see naked women is in SF shows. Who knew?
You have any, ehm, SF show to suggest...?

It's for, errr, a research?

More than a little.

You could just watch that Star Trek TNG porn parody.
Or the 11 made by "Trek historian" Cash Markman. Yes, that's his real job.

He's keen on oral histories.

:barf:
